Has a good record here (three wins, five places from ten starts). Will be happier with the faster conditions forecast, but a draw in stall 13 is a disadvantage.
Came to hand early last term and his C&D record is 3-4. Remains 11lb above his last winning mark but has performed well off similar marks. The market was a good indicator of his prospects last year.
Has scored at Hamilton and Ripon so possible this track will not be stiff enough. Only beat one home on return and there may be better options.
Was backed ahead of both successes last term and a market check is advised now that cheekpieces are refitted. Has gone well here in the past.
Landed four races for Ron Harris in 2017, two in this grade or higher. Suited to quick conditions and down to his last winning mark. Will be better for latest run, but faces competition for the lead.
Started her winning spree off a mark of 48 and last month's Ripon success has seen that elevated to one of 77. Well-drawn and hard to write off.
Hit form on the AW during the winter, but new mark gives him a bit to find with Royal Brave on running here last summer.
Best efforts tend to come when able to dictate the pace. Likely to be competition for the lead and poorly drawn.
Suited to further but shaped well in a strongly run race over this trip last week. Has gone well off higher marks in this grade and every chance if overcoming a problem draw.
Has held his form well this year on the AW over sprint trips managing to be placed on all but one of his outings. Still not won for nearly a year, but he has now slipped below his last winning mark and cheekpieces are tried.
Disappointing last week when much was in her favour. Just 1lb above his last winning mark and reunited with a rider who has produced his best performances in the past 12 months.
Landed a minor Newcastle race in March and well-beaten in all four starts in similar company last year. Tricky draw to overcome and hard to fancy.
Has won here in the past, but she is better in lesser company than this and has an absence to overcome.

Forecasts
Royal Brave (9/2), Suwaan (5/1), Tanasoq (6/1), Rapid Applause (6/1), Lydiate Lady (7/1), Tommy G (15/2), Longroom (11/1), Pea Shooter (14/1), Lexington Place (14/1), Fethiye Boy (16/1), Harome (18/1), Pearl Acclaim (20/1), Lady Cristal (20/1), Landing Night (25/1)
Longroom and Landing Night both attracted support ahead of their successful ventures in 2017 so a market check would be prudent in an open race. Lydiate Lady and Rapid Applause are recent winners with the former continuing to defy the handicapper and versatile tactically. The latter may want a stiffer track, but he remains on the right side of the handicapper despite his penalty. Tanasoq and Royal Brave have difficult draws to overcome but could still go close, whilst FETHIYE BOY is well drawn and down to his last winning mark. The selection will be better for a recent run and could be the answer to a tricky contest.
- Fethiye Boy
- Rapid Applause
- Lydiate Lady
