Dubawi filly, won at Newmarket on second start last season, out of her depth in the Group 3 Nell Gwyn back there on seasonal reappearance but drops in class now and strong claims.
Harbour Watch filly is a half-sister to two-year-old 6f winner Regal Approval. Being asked a tough question on first start here.
Finished third over 7f at Kempton last September and highly tried when well beaten in a Group 2 subsequently. Disappointed back in a novice contest next time and up in trip for seasonal debut.
Dubawi filly, who is a half-sister to 7f winner Jewel House. Up in trip and likely can improve on pair of juvenile efforts at Chelmsford.
Dark Angel filly cost 200,000 gns and is nicely-bred. Yard have a superb strike rate in this sphere this year. One of two for trainer.
Cacique filly is a sister to useful 1m4f winner Al Zaman, in capable hands for debut and merits a closer inspection in the betting.
Dubawi filly is a half-sister to six winners including 7f two-year old Group 1 winner Termagent. Shaped well on sole outing last term over 7f at Newmarket, up in trip and one of two for Roger Varian here.
Bought relatively cheaply for 8,000 gns but offered something to build on when a 5¼L third behind Lumi over 1m here on debut, not as good since at Lingfield.
Nathaniel filly whose dam is a sister to 1,000 Guineas second Spacious. Didn't achieve a lot on debut at Nottingham last season, plenty to work on in return to action.
Forecasts
Dolcissimo (2/1), Nawassi (10/3), Desert Diamond (5/1), Sary Arqa (5/1), Club Tropicana (10/1), Voluminous (12/1), Inpromptu (20/1), Skirrid Hill (40/1), Captivating Light (80/1)
Nawassi can no doubt leave a disappointing effort in a Newmarket Group 3 last time behind her and should go well. She's entitled to be involved but might have plenty to fear from John Gosden's newcomer DOCSISSIMO. The yard have a superb record in AW novices of late and could supply another winner now. Sary Arqa joins stablemate and newcomer Inpromptu in completing the shortlist.
- Dolcissimo
- Nawassi
- Sary Arqa
