Given a bold sight out in front here yesterday over a mile but ultimately did too much too soon. Looked to have been given a chance by the handicapper on his AW return but his two turf runs have been below-par.

Scored twice on the AW over 7f in similar company either side of the New Year; looked well suited by a strong pace on the second of those wins. Hit a bit of a lull after that before reviving last time at Lingfield (6f); vulnerable to any improvers.

Four-times a winner here (twice over C&D) he enjoyed a return to turf and 7f here last time (also helped by dropping to a basement mark). Probably had plenty in his favour on that occasion and he may well be hard pushed under a penalty to follow-up.

There looked to be some promise in his penultimate run having plummeted in the weights for this yard (in this grade for the first time). However he failed to build on that next time (cheekpieces on); there may be something to come yet though.

His penultimate run showed that he has a little bit of ability for this grade although he did race rather freely. Nowhere near the same form last time out though and remains an inconsistent sort.

Respectable is the right adjective to use about his last few runs but it remains only modest form overall. Still to win a race and like a few in this needs a few to run below-par to have any chance of winning.

Trainer has really hit a hot streak of late and this one bounced back to form last time over C&D. She's also won over C&D so acts well here the win coming off a mark of 53 which makes her well handicapped here if building on last time.

Inconsistent and temperamental type who has finished well held of late on various types of AW surface. Hard to recommend on his current form.

Mark has been on the slide for quite some time and she showed nothing on her first run for this yard on the AW over 7f. Hard to make a case for her on what she's showed so far but makes a long trip here so watch the market.

Verdict

Hard to make a strong case for anything in this but WILD ACCLAIM must surely be able to make use of a mark this low soon given he’s been weighted a lot higher in the past. The visor now goes on for the first time which may help and on his old form he’s very well handicapped. Live Dangerously acts well around here and although he will find this harder than his last C&D win under a 6lb penalty he can’t be left out here. Nothing that Mick Channon runs of late can be ignored and his Ettie Hart is another C&D winner who generally runs well here. Locommotion is one of the more solid players but may well be vulnerable off this mark with Gifted Lady worth a market watch.
