Form so far has hardly been the most consistent, and she's tough to fancy off top weight following her performance on handicap debut at Lingfield last time out.
Two best efforts in novice company came here (over 6f). Up in trip for handicap debut and this opening mark looks fair based on what he's achieved.
Yet to get off the mark but has gone close on a number of recent starts, including when beaten less than a length last time. Looking a bit difficult to win with but this mark is fine.
Comfortably his best effort to date came in a handicap over C&D, off 1lb lower than this. Blinkers applied after a less encouraging run last time but drop back in trip will suit and he is one to consider.
Best run to date came over this trip two starts back (at Lingfield), and could hit the frame off 3lb higher having been given a short break since.
Not disgraced in three novice events, all at this course including twice over C&D, but probably still needs to improve on that form to win off this mark on handicap debut.
Steps up to this trip for the first time and has run plenty of promising races, but concerning he hasn't been able to capitalise on any of those chance to date.
This handicap mark mostly based on sole victory at Southwell in December, but hasn't been able to repeat that level of form anywhere else since.
Plenty went wrong at Lingfield last time including him racing too keenly, so good to see a hood applied here. If that has the desired effect he can't be discounted.
Much improved on handicap debut at this course last time and edged up just 1lb in the weights for that promising effort. Should be able to run another big race.
Down the field on handicap debut at Chelmsford last time out, and it's tough to envision this step up in trip bringing about the required improvement.
Forecasts
Balletomane (10/3), Verstappen (4/1), Brexitmeansbrexit (6/1), Sweet Symphony (6/1), El Borracho (8/1), Arigato (12/1), Dolly Mixture (16/1), Cwynar (16/1), Lady Of Petra (20/1), Zabaletaswansong (25/1), Couldn't Could She (40/1)
The two runs BALLETOMANE had here in novice company were easily his best, and off a fair opening mark of 72 he can make his handicap debut a winning one here given The level of form he has shown on Polytrack is much above what he achieved on turf. Arigato ran well on his own handicap debut last time out and is the main danger, ahead of Sweet Symphony.
- Balletomane
- Arigato
- Sweet Symphony
