Ended a long losing run at Kempton in February over this trip and has run with credit off higher marks since all on the AW. Has fun poorly the last two times he's run here and may be a little too high in the weights now.

A winner on Tapeta for his former yard at Newcastle (both off lower marks) he was in good form without winning subsequently. This will be his third run for his new yard having run just moderately on both occasions so far.

A winner just over a year ago at Kempton (7f, standard) he's now slipped below that last winning mark and looks to be working his way back to fitness. This is a little bit easier in terms of grade than his last two runs and he may do better now.

Still 3lb above his last winning mark on the AW he was well supported last time over 6f at Windsor (had a lot of use made of him). Now reverts to the AW back up in trip having shown some good form on synthetic surfaces; jockey booked should be noted.

A dual C&D winner he was well below his best when making his debut for this yard over 6f here. That run came after 5 months off but he failed to show any real sparkle despite having slipped down to his last winning mark.

A drop to a 0-55 handicap coupled with a career-low mark sparked a recovery in his form (headgear back on) over a mile at Lingfield. Wasn't in the same form next time dropped to this trip and will be better suited by a mile.

Dropped in grade last time out and finally got off the mark at the 10th attempt after a long break looking a little more enthusiastic than before. This is a step-up in grade though and he'll do well to follow-up here back in a handicap.

Showed ability on his debut when with Roger Varian but failed to build on that in a couple of runs. Hooded for his handicap/stable debut he showed little again pulling hard and looks to have plenty to prove as things stand.

Needs a well-run race to be seen at his best but has run well since belatedly getting off the mark over 7f at Lingfield. Stretched by the mile trip last time and should remain competitive and will get more assistance from the saddle this time.

25-race maiden who has run well below form on his last three starts and now tries 7f again for the first time since December. Often spoils his chance with a slow start and others make more appeal. 6lb out of the handicap.

Her best efforts have come at Lingfield (Polytrack) under a positive ride and she's not had either circumstance in her recent runs. Well below form last time and her last two runs here have been disappointing.

Can be excused her last run (slow away; rider lost irons) but hadn't been in much form before that. 6lb out of the handicap here and hard to fashion a case for.

Forecasts

Ubla (9/4), Pepys (9/4), Ronnie The Rooster (7/2), Frozen Lake (9/1), Rising Sunshine (14/1), Mime Dance (16/1), Prince of Time (20/1), Gorham's Cave (25/1), Gulland Rock (25/1), Mistry (50/1), Rapid Rise (66/1), Tisa River (100/1)

Verdict

A fairly modest affair in which it may well be worth watching the market on three-time C&D winner Gulland Rock who has now slipped to a more forgiving mark. With Silvestre De Sousa booked for Ubla a prominent display is expected especially as he’s back on the AW a surface that suits him better. It won’t be a surprise to see Ronnie The Rooster show more for his new yard now they are getting the measure of him while Pepys can’t be left out of the picture although he’ll find it tougher back in a handicap. RISING SUNSHINE makes the most appeal especially with David Egan taking over in the saddle and dropping back to 7f although he will need a strongly run contest.
  1. Rising Sunshine
  2. Ubla
  3. Pepys
