C&D winner who also demonstrated winning form two starts ago at Kempton. That was off 1lb lower than this and though he also runs over staying trips these days he also has the tactical pace for this distance.
Trip and ground likely to suit here, but needs to step up on a couple of week performances recently, and is only edging down the weights slowly.
Yet to score in handicap company, but appeared to take a step in the right direction at Lingfield last time and can build on that here back down in trip.
Much better than this class of race at his best, but nowhere near that standard since joining this yard and has plenty to prove now.
Good effort on his first start for over two years at Lingfield in December. Has been given plenty of time since then and stepping up on that run would see him go very close.
All four turf wins have come here (4-5 record overall at this course), but still needs to bounce back after a couple of poor performances on the AW.
Only career win so far came at this course on handicap debut, and though he hasn't consistently impressed since, a return here may mean he is seen to better effect.
Couldn't build on a victory at Sandown when out again at Salisbury last time, but that came at the end of a long season and she may fare better here first time out.
Forecasts
Past Master (11/4), Chance To Dream (4/1), Argus (9/2), Man Of Harlech (5/1), Zzoro (15/2), Sir Plato (12/1), Flood Defence (12/1), Sea Tide (25/1)
Argus needs respecting as a C&D winner who arrives here in good form, while Sir Plato has an excellent record here and could bounce back now returning to his favourite course, but the suggestion is PAST MASTER. He ran well at Lingfield in December considering how long he'd been off for, and now returning to turf for the first time since September 2015 he has been given plenty of time and should be ready to go close to finally getting off the mark.
- Past Master
- Argus
- Sir Plato
