Lightly-raced for his age and close to getting off the mark at Pontefract on handicap debut last time out. Interesting here off the same mark.
Not the worst overall strike-rate but not at his best recently, and would ideally prefer more rainfall to be seen at his best.
Ran well off similar marks towards the end of last season without getting his head back in front; should go close again here provided he doesn't need the run.
Consistent gelding who is only 5lb higher than he was last summer despite the fact he's won twice since (from five runs). Potentially well-treated, therefore, and should appreciate conditions.
No win since a Listed contest in May 2014, and it's tough to see that changing soon based on his recent performances.
Only recent winning form did come at this course, but that was in claiming company and his form in handicaps has left plenty to be desired.
No obvious improvement in form on stable debut last time and on a long enough losing streak, but these are his conditions and he certainly looks well-handicapped on his best form.
3lb higher than when narrowly beating Awesome Allan at Lingfield last time out, but that level of form unlikely to be enough here and he's been soundly beaten since.
Drew a blank on the AW over the winter but generally much better on turf; couldn't step up on that form on return to the grass at Bath last time out, however.
Makes her seasonal debut here and is 4lb higher than when beating Awesome Alan at this course two starts back. Finished last of all first time out at this meeting last year.
Has only had two runs on turf so far but yet to really convince on this surface; likely to struggle here even based on his best recent AW form; out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Dragstone Rock (6/4), Awesome Allan (5/1), Wiley Post (17/2), Kinglami (10/1), Impart (10/1), Oeil De Tigre (10/1), Flowing Clarets (11/1), Musical Comedy (12/1), Roundabout Magic (20/1), Ballesteros (40/1), Magic Approach (50/1)
Everything looks set for a big run from Impart, who is reunited with Oisin Murphy today and is very well-handicapped on his best form, while Dragstone Rock could build on his handicap debut last time when he finished second. Preference, though, is for OEIL DE TIGRE, who was in good form at the end of last season and should go close if picking up where he left off in conditions which should suit.
- Oeil De Tigre
- Dragstone Rock
- Impart
