A revelation on the Tapeta at Newcastle over the winter months, winning three of his last four starts (7f to 1m); rising 17lb in the weights. Beat Elixsoft by a neck on his latest start last month.
Finished third to Austrian School over 1m2f on his final start last season (at Pontefract), but also sports C&D placed form. Gelded over the winter, so will that help to shed the maiden tag?
Unsuccessful in five starts as a juvenile, but was beaten by less than 2L when finishing runner up to Rockies Spirit over 6f here in July 2017 (good). Tries a new trip as a new man (gelded).
Sold from the care of Hugo Palmer for 13,000 gns in February 2018, having raced mainly over 1m trips. Didn't appear to stay 1m2f on his recent Doncaster stable debut (winner Proschema has bolted up since).
Won on debut at Salisbury (7f soft) in October 2017, but that form hasn't worked out all that well. Disappointing on the AW since and switched back to turf wearing a first time visor.
All three of his career starts have come over 7f, and he looks to be the type who will appreciate a step up in trip. Not without a major chance based on his October 2017 Doncaster fourth to Amplification.
Has plenty of placed form on her CV, but she's struggling to shed the maiden tag. Raced only on the AW so far, and drops markedly back down in trip from her more recent starts.
Has previous Newcastle form with Barbara Villiers (January), and was finally off the mark at the eleventh attempt recently (1m AW). Up 10lb for that stylish 5L success, but you can't help but feel he was flattered by that winning margin.
A Southwell regular, and was a winner at the Midlands venue latest when beating Gleaming Sun by ½L (1m). Up 4lb in a better race, but an unknown on turf, so could continue to progress.
Gelded over the winter after finishing 2L third over C&D (good to firm) on his final start as a juvenile in September 2017. His opening handicap mark looks fair, and he is another to have form-lines with Austrian School.

Odds On Oli (7/2), Consultant (5/1), Lord Caprio (5/1), Dontgiveuponbob (6/1), Breathable (8/1), Amity Island (12/1), Barbara Villiers (12/1), Super Major (14/1), N Over J (14/1), Ad Libitum (28/1)
Odds On Oli has been hit hard by the handicapper after winning stylishly at Newcastle last month (1m), with the suspicion being that a 10lb rise in the weights is an over-reaction. Amity Island is another AW regular and last time out winner, but he could have more to offer for Ollie Pears on his first attempt on turf. However in a race which makes no great appeal, we'll plump for another Andrew Balding trained runner in the shape of CONSULTANT. His race fitness must be taken on trust on his first appearance since late November, but he should relish this step up to 1m (dam a 1m2f winner).
- Consultant
- Amity Island
- Lord Caprio
