Won twice at the back-end of last season here (7f, soft) and at Brighton (1m1f, good). Little disappointing after and needs to bounce back here on the back of a four month break.

Has been struggling for a while on the AW and mark continues to fall. He is higher in the weights on turf and needs to show more before becoming of interest.

Form tailed off when last seen but has dropped 7lbs below last winning mark. Trip and ground are no problem and is on a decent mark if ready to go on the back of a break.

Really versatile mare that goes well on most types of ground so conditions are no problem. Returns from a six month break but rider claims a handy 5 lbs and hard to discount.

All her best pieces of form are over slightly shorter than this so slight concern over this trip on bad ground although she does act on it. Has been freshened up with a winter break and talented rider claims a handy 5lbs.

Struggled on the AW recently but is a three time winner on turf (all at Newbury) and is starting to look quite attractively handicapped. Needs to bounce back but a case can be made.

Ran pretty well last year and was placed off a 12lb higher mark at Bath in June. Has largely struggled over the winter and this trip tends to stretch his stamina.

A maiden after nine starts now and yet to finish in the places either. Needs to improve some way to trouble a few of these.

Forecasts

Berkeley Vale (2/1), Born To Please (9/2), Loving Your Work (5/1), Zaria (5/1), Hong Kong Joe (5/1), Edge (7/1), Pack It In (10/1), Mowhoob (20/1), Slipalongtrevaskis (25/1), Spike's Princess (28/1)

Verdict

A weak handicap where it is not easy to discount anything completely. Edge would be a danger to all despite top weight if returning to form on the back of a winter break. Pack It In is well handicapped if returning to anything like his best but marginal preference is for ZARIA. She’s a very reliable mare who goes on all ground and should be bang there.
  1. Zaria
  2. Pack It In
  3. Edge
