Zanzibari gelding, cost €35,000 last year. Half-brother to the useful Darwin's Fox, a Grade 3 winner over fences and Grace Lady (Group 2 Flat winner). Stayed on gamely to finish third on debut and improvement expected here up in trip.
Point-to-point winner who has finished runner-up in all three bumper starts and ran okay when fourth in a maiden hurdle at Leopardstown before Christmas. Could be a little out of his depth here.

Has shown ability in his three starts to date, including yard debut at Leopardstown on Boxing Day. Freshened up since but improvement necessary to land any blow here.
Rock Of Gibraltar gelding out of a Noverre mare related to multiple jumps winners Gimli's Rock and Houston Dynamo. Ran well when runner-up on debut and may improve for the extra 2f here.
Point-to-point winner who disappointed on bumper debut last week. Plenty more needed.

Point-to-point winner, placed on both bumper starts to date. Form of his latest effort franked since and may have been waiting for better ground so not discounted here.
Getaway gelding, dam a half-sister to Champion Bumper winner and two more useful hurdles winners. Tough ask on debut but yard are in form and have had eight winners from there last 33 runners in this sphere; not discounted if there's market support.
Golden Lariat gelding, cost £110,000 in November 2016. Dam a half-sister to a point-to-point winner. Justified favouritism on sole point-to-point start, winning by 6L. Not seen for some time but interesting enough runner nonetheless.

Ran respectably in a Listed hurdle here last time out after a couple of promising efforts in bumpers. Likely to carry on improving and gets an excellent amateur jockey in the saddle.
Shantou gelding, cost €50,000 in 2013 and €100,000 in 2016. Half-brother to six-time Grade 1 winner (including Gold Cup) Kicking King amongst others. Well beaten on debut but that was a strong race and he should improve here.

Well beaten in three point-to-points. Shaped with some promise on rules debut at Thurles but finished well beaten and similar story back at that course last time. Hard to fancy on form.
Pulled up in a bumper over a year ago and failed to finish in two point-to-points since.

Robin Des Champs gelding, cost €250,000 as a three-year-old. Dam a bumper and hurdle winner and related to plenty of useful types. Well beaten at this meeting last year. Bred to do better but yard not had a bumper winner for some time.
Point-to-point winner who ran well on debut for this yard at Naas. Winner has franked that form with a narrow defeat in the Champion Bumper and that's the best form any of these bring to the table.

Pulled up on both point-to-point starts. Returns from nearly a year off fitted with a first-time tongue-tie. Others preferred.
Only just touched off in a point-to-point but disappointed when odds-on for Rules debut last time. Yard could hardly be in better form here this week and this gelding likely to improve here.
Milan gelding, cost €31,000 in 2013. Closely related to the useful Chatterbox, placed in Listed company. Yard have had just one bumper winner from 45 runners. Others preferred.

Finished fifth of 12 at this meeting last year and ran to a similar level to that debut on his reappearance at Lingfield. More needed here.
Getaway filly, dam a half-sister to a bumper winner and multiple Grade 2 winning chaser Racing Demon. Ran well at the Galway Festival on only start to date. First, third and fourth have all won since but form looks below the required standard.

Forecasts

Press Conference (2/1), First Approach (10/3), Lone Wolf (6/1), Fontley House (9/1), Southern Nights (12/1), All For Joy (14/1), Boot Camp (14/1), Dorrells Pierji (14/1), Aforementioned (16/1), Buddy Rich (20/1), Golden Drumlee (20/1), Pottsie (33/1), Kilbarry Way (40/1), You Raised Me Up (50/1), Willing (50/1), Ozzie's Way (50/1), Myth Buster (50/1), Snake Rock (100/1), Pigeon Butler (100/1)

Verdict

PRESS CONFERENCE shaped very well on debut and that form has been franked by the winner narrowly defeated in the Champion Bumper when last seen. Willie Mullins' has been firing in the winners all week and Southern Nights certainly can't be ruled out despite a disappointing effort last time. Lone Wolf would appear to be the first-string for Joseph O'Brien and his run in Listed company last time entitles him to each-way claims here.
  1. Press Conference
  2. Southern Nights
  3. Lone Wolf
