Down the field and finishing well held in two bumpers. Now makes his Flat debut and makes little appeal.
Only beat one home on her second start last time when a 100/1 chance showing little more than she had on her debut.
A Big Bad Bob gelding who makes his debut here. Out of a dam who was a 1m4f winner and will probably find this happening all to quickly for him.
Comes from a predominantly jumps stable that are always to be respected with their Flat runners though. This Casamento gelding has already been placed twice in minor AW events and looks to have potential for better.
Started off at a mile (not bred to need that trip) but showed some promise having looked a little green. Not knocked about and some improvement looks likely if he stays this 2f further trip on his second start.
Showed that there was some ability there on his first two starts (both on turf over 7f) before disappointing next time out. Made his AW debut after a break again over 7f but was again below form; now back from a break, up in trip and gelded.
Just the one run so far to her name (ran very green) on the Fibresand at Southwell over 7f. Steps up significantly in trip now on a very different surface and likely to be still learning.
Nicely-bred newcomer who is a sister to a winner at up 1m7f Orluna and a juvenile mile winner Ormito both of whom were useful. Dam was a 1m4f winner so she might need a little further but is one to note in the market.
Formerly with Mick Channon she looked to be still in need of the experience on her second start having shown promise on her debut. Now making her debut for a new yard on the AW for the first time she has potential to do better at some point.
The second debutante from this stable she's a half-sister to several winner including the stayer Paris Snow. Dam was a winner at up to 1m1f and she gives her stable a good chance of landing this.
Forecasts
Caspar The Cub (4/7), Royal Goldie (9/2), Metatrons Cube (8/1), Shailene (10/1), Illustrious Spirit (14/1), Oenophile (14/1), Amanda's Teddy (33/1), Lady Merganser (33/1), Blistering Bob (50/1), Uptown Girl (100/1)
Alan King is always to be respected with his runners on the Flat and so far CASPAR THE CUB has shown up well in two starts and may well put his experience to good use here in what looks a relatively weak contest. Royal Goldie makes her debut for Richard Hughes and should in time get on the scoreboard for this yard but may just need the outing. Illustrious Spirit has potential although he may not need a trip such as this and the two Andrew Balding newcomers Oenophile and Shailene hold more appeal with the market being used to separate those two.
