Quite busy since the turn of the year, generally running well and winning at Lingfield in February. Has climbed to quite a stiff mark, but is not ruled out with stable in form.
Successful over C&D off 4lb lower in September, but has not entered the winner's enclosure since although he was a close second off this mark over C&D in October. Last four runs have been on the AW and return to turf is a big plus.
Won three times over this trip last year, but the handicapper inevitably had his say. Not disgraced on return to action at Doncaster in first-time cheekpieces, sports the headgear again and is down 2lb.
Looked promising when winning as a juvenile for Kevin Ryan, but that has been his only success in nine races. Starts out for a new trainer after a break with something to prove.
Third run for current trainer when winning decisively over 6f at Wolverhampton earlier this month. Races off 6lb higher on return to turf, but stable is in cracking form so has to go on the short list.
Steady progress as a three-year-old, winning twice and climbing the handicap. Likes more cut in the ground and may find a couple of rivals too strong on his seasonal reappearance for last year's winning stable.
Got her head in front again over 1m at Chelmsford earlier this month. Fully effective over this C&D, but current handicap mark is on the high side.
Forecasts
Hedging (3/1), Art Echo (10/3), Madrinho (7/2), Sayesse (4/1), Andalusite (7/1), Black Caesar (12/1), Hemingway (20/1)
Black Caesar is considered back on turf and top-weight Sayesse enters calculations for his in-form yard, but this may be best left to MADRINHO, who won well at Wolverhampton last time and may continue his progress on turf despite his rise in the weights. Hedging represents last year's winning stable, but may need more give in the ground so a bigger danger may be Art Echo, who shaped well at Doncaster last time and is 2lb lower. Andalusite is in form, but looks harshly treated.
- Madrinho
- Art Echo
- Black Caesar
