Off time: 14:30 | Winning time: 5m 32.80s

Vibrato Valtat^t⁵⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 11-12| J: Nick Scholfield| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR: 145

10/3

Multiple Graded winner and ran well when beaten a neck over 3m at Doncaster (good) in December. Held in more competitive contests since however and interesting to see how he fares here.

Form: 5-54297

Marracudja^t⁷⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-11| J: Bryony Le Clerc⁽³⁾| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 144| C

10/3

Frontrunner, won the Scottish Champion Chase over 2m at Musselburgh in February ad could have more to come upped in trip for Nicholls team. The one to beat if he lasts home.

Form: 22-2351

Some Buckle^t³⁷³

Age: 9| Weight: 11-4| J: N D Fehily| T: T R George| OR: 137| BF| D

5/1

Was in decent form when last spotted, but a 373-day absence doesn't make this easy, especially with Marracudja likely to ensure a decent gallop. Worth market check.

Form: 6/P7P13-

Dusky Lark^p³⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 11-0| J: T Scudamore| T: R Walford| OR: 133

6/1

Has shown some fair chasing form in the past and won off a 1lb lower mark on his first run for this yard. Has found life tougher since then (even tried over hurdles) and below form in headgear last time (fences) jumping poorly and running too free.

Form: 14-P334

Dream Bolt⁶⁵

Age: 10| Weight: 10-9| J: S Bowen| T: D A Rees| OR: 128| CD

8/1

Won three times earlier in the season but rather lost his way of late and faces a tough task as such. Others make significantly stronger appeal.

Form: P413P5

Icing On The Cake⁴⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 10-6| J: Conor Shoemark| T: O Sherwood| OR: 125| BF

7/2

Made a winning chase debut at Newbury last term but things haven't quite worked out since and tendency to pull too hard in his races remains a concern. Disappointing favourite at Leicester last month.

Form: U43-505

Forecasts

Vibrato Valtat (10/3), Marracudja (10/3), Icing On The Cake (7/2), Some Buckle (5/1), Dusky Lark (6/1), Dream Bolt (8/1)

MARRACUDJA landed the Scottish Champion Chase at Musselburgh in February, a third win in 11 starts over fences for Paul Nicholls' charge. The front runner has scope for doing better and, if his stamina holds, he'll be hard to reel in under his excellent claiming rider now. Vibrato Valtat would have excellent claims if anywhere close to his best while Some Buckle has claims on form but must prove his fitness.
