Off the mark on his final start as a juvenile when landing a 1m2f nursery at Chelmsford. Stamina seems his long suit so the extra distance of this race ought to suit.

Stamina-laden pedigree so no surprise to see him well held in three runs over shorter at this track. Handicap debut over this longer trip could see him in a much better light.

Making his seasonal reappearance when a 9L second of five at Southwell. Started favourite there and may have more to offer switched to this sounder surface off the same mark.

Maiden after six starts, but has shown ability and was not disgraced on reappearance at Chelmsford earlier this month. Steps up 2f and pedigree suggests the extra distance should be in his favour.

Stoutely-bred individual who was well beaten on all three starts over 1m as a juvenile. This greater stamina test should help on his handicap debut so any market support would be interesting.

Well held in three novice events on the AW since the turn of the year. May do better over this longer trip in a handicap for the first time.

Out of the frame in four runs in novice/maiden company, the latest at this track in first-time cheekpieces which are retained. By a top-class sprinter, so this longer distance on handicap debut may not be ideal.

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-7| J: Ryan Tate| T: D C Griffiths| OR:  46

Produced his best run in five starts when competing in handicap company for the first time at Lingfield. Seemed to stay this trip that day and has each-way claims off the same mark with cheekpieces fitted.

Forecasts

Berkshire Spirit (5/2), Knight In Armour (3/1), Elysees (4/1), Gembari (13/2), Society Secret (7/1), Dagueneau (14/1), Karakoram (22/1), Keynote (28/1)

Verdict

A trappy contest in which none of the runners can safely be ruled out with most stepping up to this trip for the first time. Berkshire Spirit will be popular with punters, but was beaten quite a long way when second last time so a chance is taken on ELYSEES, who is making his handicap debut over a much longer distance and shapes as though he should derive considerable benefit from it. Top-weight Gembari, Keynote and Knight In Armour have solid form claims, while Dagueneau and Karakoram are unexposed and could make an impact.
