2017 Irish Derby and St Leger winner, this high class colt kicks-off his season over an inadequate 1m2f. Furthermore, he concedes weight to his four rivals who include a couple of stablemates, but his proven class is expected to come to the fore.

Enjoyed a solid and successful three-year-old campaign, but yet to score at Listed or Group level, so has plenty to prove against a dual Group 1 winner. Beaten by O'Brien (father and son) trained runners on his last two starts.

Dee Stakes winner (Chester) and Epsom Derby runner up to stablemate Wings Of Eagles, but didn't really progress thereafter at the very top table (racing mainly over 1m2f). Makes his first start since the Breeders Cup Turf in November (8th of 13).

Solid Group performer (1m to 1m2f), making the frame in races such as the Beresford Stakes (beaten by Capri), the Racing Post Trophy, the Ballysax Stakes and the Derrinstown Derby Trial. Not raced since May 2017, so well-being taken on trust.

Generally kept in races restricted to her own sex, and made the journey over to Great Yarmouth to plunder the Listed John Musker Stakes (1m2f soft) in September. Highly tried on reappearance against some high class O'Brien trained colts.

Forecasts

Capri (7/4), Cliffs Of Moher (11/4), Beautiful Morning (7/2), Yucatan (6/1), Cannonball (10/1)

Verdict

A turnout which will no doubt delight the Naas executive, with the Irish Derby/English St Leger winner CAPRI kick starting his four-year-old campaign against fellow classy stablemates such as the Epsom Derby runner up Cliffs of Moher and the long-time absent Yucatan. With all due respect to the other pair who are talented enough horses at their respective levels, this prize will almost certainly be headed back to Ballydoyle and although this trip isn't wholly suitable, it'll be a major surprise if Capri isn't the victor.
  1. Capri
  2. Yucatan
  3. Cliffs Of Moher
