Horse A-Z
Half-sister to bumper/hurdle winner Meadowcroft Boy and dam comes from a good family. Plenty of mudlovers in the pedigree and stable get the occasional winner in this discipline.
2
Horse silk
20/1
Half-sister to a couple of winners who handle heavy ground and represents a small yard still seeking their first winner under rules.
3

Luna June
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: Alain Cawley| T: F O'Brien
3/1
Half-sister to a couple of winners including the useful Balbriggan and out of a dam who is a half-sister herself to Sam Spinner. Stable do well in these contests and she is one to monitor closely.
4
Horse silk
3/1
Dam was closely related to high class hurdler/chaser Accordian Etoile. Sent off favourite at Cheltenham a year ago when the race was run at a farcical pace. Obviously thought capable of better and stable 4-15 in bumpers around here since 2013.
€34,000 daughter of Derby winner Pour Moi and dam unraced half-sister to Musidora/Nassau winner Zahrat Dubai out of a German 1,000 Guineas winner. Yard 2-10 in bumpers over past five seasons.
6
Horse silk
25/1
Picked up cheaply at €1,000 despite being a half-sister to Sandy Thomson's six-time winner Rowdy Rocher. He handles heavy ground and has landed a bumper, so connections will be optimistic she can make them a profit before too long.
Midnight Legend filly out of a dam who was an AW winner over 1m4f. Stable 0-15 in bumpers over past five seasons and suspicion she will need quicker ground.
8
Horse silk
11/4
Sakhee half-sister to a couple of multiple winners, Knight in Purple and River Purple. Comes from a good yard with the rider booking taking the eye also, but fears with that pedigree she will want better ground than available here.

Forecasts

Willow May (11/4), Luna June (3/1), Mark's Folly (3/1), Miss Heritage (5/1), Briery Express (10/1), Could You (20/1), Miss Rocher (25/1), Princess Midnight (33/1)

Verdict

Briery Express, Miss Heritage and Luna June are newcomers with nice pedigrees which also indicate they have a chance of coping with the conditions that face them here. Miss Rocher has a bloodline that defies the low amount of money it took to acquire her and her sire gets his share of bumper and heavy ground winners. For the selection MARK'S FOLLY is favoured to take advantage of her previous experience and her yard's good record in bumpers around here. She was sent off favourite for what developed into a sprint at Cheltenham a year ago and clearly has more ability than she was allowed to show that day.
  1. Mark's Folly
  2. Luna June
  3. Briery Express
