A win in a Jumpers Bumper at Kempton last month may have helped boost his confidence having pulled up on his two previous outings over fences. Remains 1lb above highest wining rating to date so has no easy task.
Three wins from his last six starts have all come on decent ground. Likes to lead so should be suited by this sharp track and has claims as long as rain stays away.
Won over C&D in December off 9lb lower mark then followed up at Exeter before running well when fourth in listed chase at Warwick. Ran well for a long way in Midlands National latest and should be on the premises again.
3-3 over fences in France and reached current yard with good reputation. Favourite but only third on British bow at Cartmel in August 2016 and not seen since. Has had wind surgery so is of interest despite absence.
Won over hurdles at Fontwell earlier in the season and ran well when close third in fair handicap chase at Sandown latest. Fairly handicapped on the best of his form and enters calculations.
Battled to a neck success over C&D last time under amateur rider and is now 4lb higher. Good jockey steps in and this locally trained gelding looks set to run another good race here.
Not in the same form as when scoring over C&D last April having been runner-up in this race a few weeks earlier. Still 2lb higher than that victory and looks to have it to do although return to happy hunting ground may help.
Just 3-44 wins to date but is 5lb better off with Goohar for just over 3 lengths on their running together last time. Shouldn't be far away off bottom weight this time.
Forecasts
Fourth Act (3/1), Western Climate (7/2), Sir Ivan (9/2), Goohar (6/1), Sonneofpresenting (8/1), Uhlan Bute (10/1), According To Harry (10/1), Dauphine Ereine (33/1)
A decent prize has attracted a decent field and there are plenty with chances. Goohar toughed it out to score here last time and comes into the reckoning again along with Uhlan Bute, who wasn't too far behind him and is better off at the weights. WESTERN CLIMATE has run well all season and if the hard race at Uttoxeter last time hasn't left its mark he should be bang there when it matters most. Dauphine Ereine is worth monitoring in the market after a long absence and may go well, while Sir Ivan and Fourth Act are others with claims.
- Western Climate
- Goohar
- Dauphine Ereine
