Formerly trained by Sir Michael Stoute, two from three for these connections last term including first two starts in handicaps. Up a further 4lb, sure to handle the ground and the one to beat on his return.
Maiden winner over C&D in April on good ground. Fairly solid in some valuable handicaps with give underfoot later in the season in four runs. Trip/ground appear fine on return and potentially on a decent mark.
Often runs well without winning (3-39 on turf, placed 16 times), best form last year was over further but handicapper has given him a chance and 10lb claim also helps.
Won 1m4f Naas maiden (soft) in November on previous Flat outing, well held since in trio of maiden hurdles but could bounce back returned to this sphere.
Generally consistent last year, winning over C&D in April and landing two more pots from a further nine runs. Handles cut in the ground, went out like a light at Cork on reappearance, having raced prominently, but may have need that outing.
AW winner in France in 2015, mostly been finding things tough on turf / over jumps since joining this yard last year. Hard to fancy on seasonal reappearance unless market speaks in his favour.
Lightly-raced colt, won his first two starts at Leicester this time last year, including modest handicap off mark of 75 over 7f. Poor since, including trio of AW outings after joining this trainer. Off 106 days and must be doubts on this ground.
Usually runs fairly well in AW handicaps, but is 0/4 on turf so far. Best form has come on AW surfaces but improvement not ruled out in what doesn't appear the strong contest and is race fit.
Forecasts
Inscribe (5/2), Keep Believing (7/2), Warnaq (4/1), So You Thought (5/1), Mokhalad (7/1), Cash In Mind (14/1), Ocean Air (20/1), Byron Beauty (28/1)
Inscribe is the pick on the form of his two wins to end last season and he isn't too harshly treated up another 4lb on his return. He's likely to be well found in the betting however and this isn't straightforward. Warnaq has toiled over hurdles lately but could well bounce back in this sphere on ground that should be fine but C&D maiden winner SO YOU THOUGHT ran with plenty credit in some decent handicaps on soft going last year and is potentially on a workable mark this afternoon, earning him the vote.
- So You Thought
- Inscribe
- Warnaq
