Has won 11 of his 40 starts including his maiden win here. Enjoying a renaissance in his career of late having won three of his last five starts and obviously still well-handicapped on his old Group/Listed form. Interesting runner.
C&D winner here in 2016 but signs the handicapper has caught up with him this winter. Below form on his last start when slowly away and others preferred.
Yet to win on AW but has placed twice including over C&D. Has won fresh before and back down to a workable mark so can't be dismissed considering the yard are in good form and they have a fair record with runners returning from an absence.
Placed in Group company multiple times in his younger days and won on seasonal return last year at Chelmsford. Lost his way last season but market likely to be informative on yard debut and no doubt he has the ability to win off this mark.
Has been running well this winter and latest win came on AW. Not given his own way on the front end at Lingfield last time and that's what he needs to be seen to best effect but probably better over further than this.
Won her maiden here and ran well throughout her three-year-old campaign. Runner-up in a muddling contest on only start of the winter but she's better than that and the assessor has given her a real chance back in handicap company.
Winner of three of his last five starts and ran well when touched off at Newcastle on sole AW start. Finished the season with a fair effort behind Tomily (runs earlier on the card) at Doncaster and interesting runner if he's ready to go on return.
Has looked progressive on AW over the winter but slight fear he's a better horse at Southwell having only recorded one win away from that course. Has won over this trip but probably better over further and others preferred.
Forecasts
Mazzini (10/3), Swift Approval (4/1), Raucous (5/1), Boundsy (13/2), Raven's Lady (7/1), Hammer Gun (8/1), Tropics (10/1), Pipers Note (14/1)
TROPICS has returned to form this winter, showing he retains plenty of his ability from the days he was contesting Group races and he's narrowly preferred given that he could still be a little better than this mark. Raucous is an interesting runner on debut for this yard who do well with these types while Raven's Lady has been the subject of some lenient handicapping and may be able to take advantage.
