Opening run in handicap company when finishing a creditable third of eight in first-time cheekpieces in a 6f contest at Lingfield. Runs off the same mark, the headgear is retained and extra furlong of this race may suit.
Has been running with credit over sprint distances, but has been unable to get her head in front since scoring at Lingfield in December. Handicap mark is feasible, but this trip represents a step into the unknown.
Off the mark when winning on her handicap debut at Wolverhampton under this jockey. Only 3lb higher and has to be in the mix again with improvement on the cards.
Well beaten in four starts from 6f to 1m in novice company. Makes his handicap debut off a high enough mark, but is worth a check in the betting.
Down 5lb after being well beaten in both starts in handicaps. Needs to take a big step forward if she is to figure at the business end.
Only limited promise when trained by Richard Hannon and first run for current trainer saw her struggle on the Southwell Fibresand. Dropping down the weights and may do better on this surface.
Failed to hit the frame in seven starts for Mick Channon. On a career-low mark on first run for this trainer and is worth noting for any market support.
Well beaten in three novice events and has cut little ice in two subsequent handicaps. Has been dropped 8lb for those two runs and it is still early days for him.
Three runs in handicaps and has not been disgraced in any of them. Not beaten too far when fifth to Geetanjali last time and can get closer on 4lb better terms.
Has shown very little in four starts, including in handicap company when last seen in December. Hopes are pinned on wind surgery having a positive effect.
Forecasts
Silverturnstogold (2/1), Geetanjali (4/1), Olive Mabel (5/1), Inuk (7/1), Courteous Crown (9/1), Erastus (12/1), Expediate (12/1), Mandarin Princess (20/1), Wynfaul The Wizard (25/1), Squirrelheed (50/1)
A tricky finale, but one which may well go to GEETANJALI, who won on her handicap debut and is open to plenty of improvement. Olive Mabel is weighted to get closer to her following their running at Wolverhampton and may well chase her home, while Expediate and Inuk have prospects stepped up in trip. Erastus and Silverturnstogold are worth noting in the betting.
- Geetanjali
- Olive Mabel
- Expediate
