Hugely impressive when scoring over C&D last summer. Excuses for his two defeats since, but has every chance to atone with his stable going well.
200,000 gns son of Invincible Spirit and half-brother to two winning milers. Beat a modest lot on debut when heavily backed but was highly impressive. Stable going well and he may not have as much to find as the form book suggests.
Took advantage of an easy opportunity last time but faces much tougher rivals now and has a bit to find at these weights.
Cost a small fortune as a foal but sold on cheaply. Tailed off on debut in a Musselburgh bumper and looks out of his depth.
Caused a major upset over fences at Ludlow two weeks ago and it will be an even bigger shock if he proved capable of taking this.
0-9 record but has run some solid races in defeat. Lacks a change of gear, but the allowances he receives puts him in the mix if he can be cajoled to produce his best.
New Approach gelding who cost just £800 as a three-year-old. Last of 12 on debut and facing an even sterner test now.
Dark Angel half-brother to various winners including 1m scorer Montalcino. Cost 60,000 gns as a yearling. Looked backward on debut and needs to show vast improvement in order to figure.
Last of four on debut and only beat two home last time. This looks better than either of those races.
Has hardly beaten a rival in bumpers and on Flat debut two weeks ago. Impossible to fancy at this level.
Vale of York half-sister to a couple of winning milers out of a May Hill winner who was third in the 1000 Guineas. Yard not noted for debut successes, but worth watching with an eye to the future.
Forecasts
Mordin (6/4), Mr Minerals (2/1), Ripp Orf (7/2), Know Your Limit (6/1), Putto (20/1), Amaranth (66/1), Cap'n (80/1), La Trog (100/1), Shining Valley (150/1), Floral Queen (150/1), Ousden (250/1)
Know Your Limit is proving difficult to win with, but he does run to a consistent level and he is likely to pop up when everything falls right. On this occasion he faces a couple of rivals who set a high enough standard to make him work harder than he may wish. Mr Minerals was highly impressive when dealing with a good field over C&D last summer and he may get more cover and a stronger pace than has been the case on his last two starts. However he has a potentially stiff task in conceding 4lb to MORDIN. Simon Crisford's charge made short work of his rivals when justifying short odds to make a successful debut. He looks dangerously weighted on that form.
