Ex-Irish veteran who scarmbled home in Dundalk claimer last month over similar trip. First start here for new conenctions but not favoured by race conditions so a place may be the best he can hope for.
3-30 on AW but is on a long losing sequence. Only successes have been at a mile and has struggled to get home over further of late. Drops in grade but has masses to find on these terms and others are readily preferred.
Yard won this race in 2017, is in good nick. Was in fair form towards end of last year but has run poorly of late in handicaps. Well beaten at Doncaster recently, but this is easier and may not be too far away this time.
Best efforts in a long and honourable career have been between 6f-1m. Has threatened to go well at this trip a time or two though but has plenty to find on these terms with likley principals.
Badly out of form under both codes and hasn't won for two years since landing 1m6f Southwell AW handicap. Hard to enthuse over given recent evidence.
14-race maiden who has run over a dizzying span of distances in recent starts. Has tounge tied down for the first time but looks a doubtful stayer and has masses to find on official figures.
Has had three runs over a variety of trips to date, hinting at some ability on second start. Undergone wind surgery since last outing and remains unexposed although looks moderate. Any market interest would be worth noting though.
Represents top yard and has something in hand on official figures at these terms. Disappointed on handicap bow last time but balance of form suggests he should be good enough - if in the mood. Looks the one to beat.
Forecasts
The Jungle Vip (15/8), Topamichi (2/1), Carvelas (9/2), Lenin (10/1), Bookmaker (10/1), Down Time (20/1), Gunner Moyne (25/1), Sandacres (25/1)
THE JUNGLE VIP won't find many better opportunities than this to get off the mark. He is the most likely winner, although not one to go overboard on. Topamichi's yard won this event last term and, while he's run badly of late, he may bounce back, while ex-Irish Carvelas is not discounted on his debut for new connections, although he has plenty of weight. Lenin is the dark horse of the race but still has to prove he can produce the goods, while Bookmaker may sneak a place despite unfavourable terms.
