Just ahead of Hands Of Stone here last time but remains on the same mark, though he does have winning form here (unlike most of these).

Fair performer over fences, but unseated on return to the smaller obstacles in a weak race at Southwell when last seen in February and tough to fancy off the back of that performance.

De Bene Esseh,t20
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-6| J: Lorcan Williams(7)| T: A Wintle| OR:  94
11/2
Not a bad effort at Taunton last time when third (though beaten by a fair distance, stable debut). This is a long way from being the strongest race and he could hit the frame again off the same mark.

Point N Shootb,t15
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-5| J: Tom Buckley(10)| T: N J Hawke| OR:  93

Steps markedly down in trip having not been run badly at Fontwell last time in very testing conditions. Sole win came over a much more similar trip to this one, so he holds claims.

Ten race maiden, but has shown a better level of form since running in handicaps. First time cheek-pieces may be able to encourage some further progression and is down a useful 4lb.

Ran only okay on return from a long absence at Chepstow last time out. Step up in trip should help and of some interest if coming on for that last effort.

On a fair mark and goes well here, but long losing streak has to be a concern. Mild signs of a revival at Lingfield two starts back, however.

Forecasts

Steel Native (3/1), Filatore (10/3), Point N Shoot (4/1), De Bene Esse (11/2), Hands Of Stone (11/2), Babytaggle (8/1), Miner Distraction (11/1), Tara Mac (14/1)

Verdict

Not a great level of form on offer here, but perhaps the step down in trip could be key to POINT N SHOOT getting his head back in front. His sole career win came here over a similar trip to this, and he should relish conditions off what looks a fair handicap mark. Miner Distraction will need to step up on her comeback performance to have a say here but there's a chance she could, while Steel Native is of some interest based on his course form.
  1. Point N Shoot
  2. Miner Distraction
  3. Steel Native
