Made giant strides after being gelded winning two Haydock 6f handicaps in impressive fashion in testing conditions both times. Failed to complete the hat-trick on his final run of the season but no surprise if he bounced back here; had wind surgery.

One of the best in at the weights she ended the season on a low but is better judged on her hammering of some in-form rivals in a Goodwood handicap (5f, heavy). Held-up off a strong pace her 3L win was impressive and a repeat would see her go close.

Winner of an uncompetitive maiden here in June on quick ground (made all) she proved herself later in two far tougher handicaps on soft ground at up to 6f (again made all). Went off the boil after that and may need this; faces pace pressure.

Taken to France to break his maiden over nearly 7f his form after that in three runs (all in France) was only modest. Now back to the shortest trip he's run over since making his debut here over 5f; faces a stiff task at the weights.

Given plenty of work to do as a juvenile he made all to win three handicaps on the AW in November showing improved form each time. Kept busy again this year (this will be his 6th run) and already taken a 5f AW handicap; this will prove harder though.

Highly tried last year and finished the season with a 5th in Group 2 over 5f (best run). Had previously won twice over 5f (hooded both times) but had looked rather quirky in doing so and clearly isn't straightforward; needs treating with care.

Verdict

All bar one of these are coming back off long breaks and with plenty liking to go forward it could be a good test at the trip on the prevailing soft ground. Spoof ended the year with a good performance but he has his quirks and isn’t sure to repeat that run. Quench Dolly would be very much in the equation here is she reproduced her Goodwood handicap demolition and she will like the ground and could enjoy the likely strong pace. Under The Covers and the race-fit Joegogo look the pace angles in the race and that could well suit the still improving HYPERFOCUS who enjoyed testing conditions when winning both his Haydock handicap he can continue his upward curve here.
