Pulled up in two of his three starts last term and was well beaten wehn returning after wind op at Southwell earlier this month. Very hard to fancy.

Tailed off and pulled up in two NH starts for Nick Skelton. Makes debut for new connections in this new sphere but may find things happening rather too quickly for him on AW bow.

Unraced four-year-old gelding by Holy Roman Emperor who cost connections 20,000 guineas as a yearling. Has clearly taken time to come to hand and expected to be better for this first racecourse experience.

Drop back a furlong after two starts at this track where he hinted at ability. Type to improve but may well be worth looking at more closely on handicap bow.

Lope De Vega gelding who stayed on steadily last time suggesting he's up to winning a race or two. Yard not known for Flat winners but has been in decent form of late and should have more behind than in front at the finishing line.

Has shaped well in both starts to date on AW and looks certain to win races. Dam from family of Warrsan, Luso and Needle Gun so should stay further. Chance if ridden positively over this trip.

By Declaration of War out of dam who is half-sister to Group 1 winner Crowded House. Really took the eye when finishing fast on debut at Kempton over 1m and looks to hold leading claims here. Hard to oppose.

Green on racecourse bow Kempton on December nad got worked up in stalls at same track a month later. Ran OK in circumstances and seems to have some ability but may need a little more time.

Delegator filly made just 3,500 guineas as a yearling. Out of unraced half-sister to US Grade 3 winner Oil Man. Expected to be better for this debut experience.

Forecasts

Martineo (4/7), Grecian Spirit (3/1), Fenisa's Hook (6/1), Teaser (10/1), Cashel (10/1), New Graduate (20/1), Elysees (25/1), Shanghai Silver (25/1), Gibeno (40/1), Deolali (66/1), De Beau Tant (80/1), Roman Saints (100/1), Avago Josh (100/1)

Verdict

MARTINEO was particularly eyecatching on his debut at Kempton three weeks ago where he looked a horse of some potential. In this company he should prove hard to beat, all things considered. There are quite a few unexposed types who could make a race of it. Grecian Spirit is respected along with his unraced stable companion New Graduate. Cashel is another newcomer who might be alright, while a market move for any of Shanghai Silver, Elysees, or Fenisa's Hook would be of interest.
