Off the mark in impressive style at the second attempt at Newcastle last time. This step up in trip shouldn't be an issue and even under a penalty he should have too much for the rest of these.

Ran well in a good race at Newbury when last seen in September. Wouldn't need to step up on that to prove competitive here, but it's an above-average contest for this level.

Well held on two starts so far (both AW), and steps back down in trip here. Has shaped as if there may be further improvement to come and he's lightly raced, but he has plenty to find with the leading contenders here.

Took a backwards step last time when stepping up in trip (at this course) but didn't seem to stay the extra 2f, so the return to this distance is an obvious help.

Holy Roman Emperor filly who cost 37,000gns as a yearling. A half-sister to German Classic winner Electralane so obviously has an attractive pedigree, and is in good hands for this debut run.

Forecasts

Night Castle (4/7), Sallab (2/1), King Tut (14/1), Wind Storm (16/1), Champs Inblue (33/1), Looking For Carl (50/1)

Verdict

Given the impressive performance he put in at Newcastle last time it would be a surprise if NIGHT CASTLE couldn't add to that tally even under a penalty. He really did shape like he needed the run when fifth on debut and he should prove a fair bit better than this level of competition in time. He should be able to see off Sallab, who has run to a fair standard (including at Newbury last time out) and the Holy Roman Emperor newcomer Wind Storm.

  2. Sallab
  3. Wind Storm
