Not won since Group 3 win at Leopardstown in 2015 and only been seen sparingly since. Acts in soft ground and ran well at Kempton in October but below form last time in January. May be best watched despite yard's record with sprinters.

Most recent wins have come over 5f but stays this trip well enough. Disappointing in three starts over at Meydan and seems to have developed a worrying trait of being slowly away. Has run well over C&D but others preferred for win purposes.

Was in excellent form towards the end of last summer, rattling off a hat-trick that included winning a huge pot at the Curragh. Won't mind conditions here and will try and blaze a trail from the front but has a bit to find at this level.

More consistent on AW than turf but showed how effective he can be on grass when winning the Stewards Cup in soft ground at Goodwood last year. A reproduction of that effort would see him hard to beat in this and he's fit from a recent win on AW.

Improved throughout last year's campaign until form tailed off a little at the end of the season. Seemingly loves these conditions but the drop back in trip and absence both pose question marks and needs a clear career best to win this.

Won the big sales race here as a two-year-old and well suited to a straight 6f. While he does act in soft ground, his optimum conditions would probably be a faster surface than this. Each-way claims.

In good form towards the back end of last season culminating in a runner-up effort in Listed company over C&D in November. Not out of this on his very best form and won first time up in Listed company last season.

Won a soft ground Listed race at Newbury towards the start of last season but form completely tailed off in three subsequent outings. Hard to fancy on that evidence and may want a step back up in trip. Wears first-time cheekpieces.

Not the easiest horse to predict and can be slowly away in his races. Well beaten last of seven on only career try over 6f last time out and he will be seen to better effect when tackling longer trips.

Just about a career best when runner-up in a competitive Meydan handicap at the start of the year but soft ground unlikely to be in his favour here and has a fair bit to find on ratings. Gets a useful age allowance at least.

Forecasts

Perfect Pasture (4/1), Mjjack (4/1), Danzeno (11/2), Mr Lupton (6/1), Lancelot Du Lac (6/1), Teruntum Star (7/1), Ice Age (8/1), Blue De Vega (8/1), Visionary (16/1), Von Blucher (33/1), Roland Rocks (50/1)

Verdict

LANCELOT DU LAC's Steward's Cup form is the strongest on offer here and a reproduction of that effort should be good enough to take this. Mr Lupton has run well here before and the yard have a good record at this meeting while Perfect Pasture is a course and distance winner who is capable of making his presence felt if he returns in the same form that saw him runner-up here in November.
  1. Lancelot Du Lac
  2. Mr Lupton
