Given a clever steer from the front when scoring recently at Plumpton dropped to this trip, may be vulnerable in follow-up attempt under 7lb penalty if kept on a tighter leash by rivals but this is weak stuff.

Sole hurdles win achieved at Ffos Las all the way back in December 2013 over this trip. Hasn't been finishing his races with any authority, including last month over this trip on heavy going. Hard to make case for.

Under The Woods40
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Conor Ring(3)| T: Evan Williams| OR:  100
4/1
Brought along steadily in novice hurdles and not been given a hard time in any of them. Underlined his promise with a third last time and looks one to be interested in now switching to handicaps although may be better over further.

Wide margin defeats in trio of novice / maiden hurdles so far, sent off 250/1 in each instance. Drops back in trip for handicap bow and has all manner of improvement to find.

Mare last scored over 2m4f at Ffos Las in December 2016 on soft going from a mark of 91. Very tame in four runs this winter and needs recent wind operation to spark a turnaround in fortune.

Narrowly prevailed at Fontwell in January (2m1½f, heavy) to open hurdles account at the 14th attempt. Flopped next time out, 25L second in weak Warwick event this month. Not one to trust as yet.

Flight To Nowheret52
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: L Heard| T: R J Price| OR:  88

Already looking modest over hurdles, well beaten in most of nine starts and hard to make much of a case for her in current form. Taunton effort in January might allow her a squeak at place claims, but otherwise has to improve.

Mare was a five-race maiden over timber when last sighted almost four years ago, would require a leap of faith to predict a winning return now.

Ring Eye52
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-9| J: Charlie Hammond(7)| T: S-J Davies| OR:  83| CD
20/1
Modest on the Flat and not achieved much over hurdles since joining this yard. Does find a weak race and with mark slipping and 7lb claimed in the saddle, could get competitive if raising his game just a touch.
10

Kayf Tigert14
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-0| J: Hugh Nugent(7)| T: M Sheppard| OR:  67
4/1
Very lightly-raced for a nine-year-old, returned from 854 days off with promising effort at Wincanton (2m4f, soft) a fortnight ago. Drops in trip and this run comes quickly enough on the back of return to the track.

Forecasts

Mr Lando (5/2), Under The Woods (4/1), Kayf Tiger (4/1), Blue April (5/1), Flight To Nowhere (11/1), Kayf Charmer (12/1), Ivanhoe (12/1), Miner Distraction (16/1), Ring Eye (20/1), Sustainable Star (50/1)

Verdict

Mr Lando is the form choice after a recent Plumpton success. He was given a handy time out in front there however and may not be afforded similar today. Under his penalty, he's likely to find things harder. Ring Eye is dropping to a low mark if able to up things a bit, while Blue April will have claims if in the mood but is not reliable. Flight To Nowhere's effort at Taunton in January was notable in this context but handicap debutant UNDER THE WOODS has been found a good starting point and can improve on the promise shown to take this.
  1. Under The Woods
  2. Mr Lando
  3. Flight To Nowhere
