Three wins from seven outings on the AW, including success over C&D two starts ago. Handicapper has had his say, but first-time cheekpieces may yield a little more improvement.
Won a couple of handicaps last year when trained by Robert Cowell and ran only once for Mark Pattinson before joining current stable. Well beaten that day and needs to show much more off 5lb lower.
Decent strike rate of 4-11 on the AW and won three in a row in December and January, including over C&D. By no means disgraced off higher marks in two runs since and looks to have leading claims.
Very consistent since joining current stable and was winning for the sixth time on the AW when successful at Southwell last time. Up 5lb, which makes life difficult, and has something to find with Midnightly.
Scoring for the third time in seven AW outings when beating Something Lucky at Wolverhampton last month. A 2lb higher mark is fair and she can go well again with further improvement on the cards.
Fair performer, but was sidelined for 16 months before finishing last of 10 at Wolverhampton last month. Wears a hood for the first time and is best watched until showing she retains all her ability.
Behind Midnightly and Something Lucky at Wolverhampton last time, but was not beaten too far and is better off at the weights. Each-way claims.
Has won 10 times in 72 starts, seven of them on the AW and one over C&D. Has been well held of late, but has slipped down the weights and it is too soon to write him off.
Forecasts
Jack The Truth (2/1), Jorvik Prince (3/1), Something Lucky (5/1), Midnightly (9/1), Monumental Man (9/1), Just Us Two (9/1), Red Stripes (10/1), Precious Plum (33/1)
A really competitive finale in which there should be little between Midnightly, Something Lucky and Red Stripes on Wolverhampton form. The vote, though, goes to JORVIK PRINCE, who won three sprints in a row around the turn of the year and can cope with his higher rating. Top-weight Jack The Truth needs to show improvement in first-time cheekpieces, but will be a threat if he does.
- Jorvik Prince
- Midnightly
- Something Lucky
