Has run with credit on a few occasions here but remains a maiden and failed to take advantage of the run of the race in a 1m4f handicap last time. Has the assistance of one of the best riders here and has an each-way chance.

Seen to good effect under an inexperienced apprentice when winning twice in February off slightly lower marks. Looks to remain in good heart although hasn't been as positively ridden the last twice but more needed overall to get involved here.

Likes to dictate in his races and did so when taking advantage of a falling mark in the summer to win at Windsor over further. Ran with credit after that without looking as though he would win again and now back from a break returned to the AW.

A fair handicapper at his best (has won off much higher marks in the past) he didn't fire at all last year. Returned from a 4 month break last time in a jumpers bumper he showed little and can't be backed with any confidence now.

On the jockey booking alone he's bound to attract interest although his form looks a little below his best at the moment. Has slipped below his last winning mark though and it will be no surprise to see a decent run; trip looks sharp enough though.

One of a few that have failed to really spark for a move to this yard and she's yet to record a win for this trainer. Versatile with regard to trip and has edged down to a good mark but disappointed last time when favourite and needs to bounce back.

Still only has one win to his name but tool a significant step forward for this yard last time on his second Flat start for them. Rather unlucky to bump into one last time with that form being stronger than usual for the grade; leading chance.

Now tried in a new headgear combination after running poorly last time out over C&D having taken a strong hold. Mark has slipped appreciably but he's not really looked as though he's going to take advantage.

Well beaten when returned to the Flat last time out having been hurdling with the first time tongue tie not appearing to provide any improvement. Partnered by one of the more experienced rider but plenty to find on form.

Lost all chance at the start last time but had shaped better than his final finishing position on his previous start over 2f further here. Has continued to edge down the weights but not written off and a likely outsider here on some previous form.

His only win in 44 starts came here over C&D but that happened back in 2013 and although he continues to run with credit of late he does always look vulnerable. Returns from a long absence and best watched for now.

His best form came at Chelmsford early last year and when he was last seen he was operating below his best and looked out of sorts. Not one to be getting involved with here coming back from a long absence.

Hinted at having a little ability in maiden events before making his handicap debut last time out over 1m4f. Surprisingly dropped 2lb for that run to a near basement mark and has to prove he can cope with 2f shorter trip; not written off though.

Appeared to shape well enough last time out when trying a mile for the first time since he was a juvenile. Looked in decent heart and kept on well enough after being hampered early; possible place chance given that run back up in trip.

Forecasts

Relevant (5/1), Sevilla (11/2), Hallingham (6/1), Ravenhoe (6/1), Ormskirk (8/1), The Secrets Out (10/1), Santadelacruze (10/1), Kristal Hart (12/1), Threediamondrings (14/1), Forestry (16/1), Beast (16/1), Gannicus (20/1), Garcon De Soleil (25/1), Cahar Fad (25/1)

Verdict

Only a modest handicap for amateur riders to close the card with ORMSKIRK holding an obvious chance after splitting two Olly Murphy runners last time with one of them Sevilla having another try to reverse the form after running poorly last time. Simon Walker’s ride Hallingham will predictably attract support although his mark and form only looks reasonable. There are a few that are lurking at the foot of the handicap that look to have chances on some of their form and Threediamondrings, Forestry and Garcon De Soleil could all outrun their odds and look interesting at each-way prices. Relevant is another to throw into the mix especially with Serena Brotherton taking the ride.
