Modest for Dan Skelton in 2015, but a winner of a point-to-point since (1 from 8). Back under rules for handicap/stable debut at Plumpton last month (3m1f good); beaten 4L by all the way winner Mickieblueeyes.

A two-time winner in the west country (Exeter and Taunton), and we know that she stays well on testing ground so ticks plenty of boxes in a weak affair. Handicapped to run well.

Far from certain that she stays beyond 2m5f and that's not good news with the mud predicted to be well and truly flying by this race. Her main hope is that the early pace is slow, which will prove to her advantage.

Not hit the target for over 12 months (2m7f Lingfield, heavy), including in a pair of non-completions over fences. Just 4lb above his last winning mark, but looks far from solid with the blinkers and tongue tie applied in unison.

Forecasts

Fizzlestix (8/11), Point N Shoot (4/1), Good News (5/1), Shoofly Milly (6/1)

Verdict

Fizzlestix is the horse open to most further improvement, upped 3lb since his handicap debut at Plumpton last month, whilst Point N Shoot would be tough to beat if recapturing the kind of form he showed when winning at Lingfield in March 2017; in his newly applied blinkers and tongue tie. However, in a contest where all four of the runners have their all too obvious drawbacks, we'll chance SHOOFLY MILLY. She's not set the world alight lately, but she's well handicapped as a result, stays well on testing ground, and is likely to get her own way out in front at a track which tends to suit prominent racers.
  1. Shoofly Milly
  2. Fizzlestix
  3. Point N Shoot
