Ran poorly both starts in January and has subsequently had wind surgery. First start back and interetsing to see if the op sparks any improvement. Hard to fancy on what he's done of late although well handicapped on best of old form.

Just 1-15 on AW and not seen since last September. Usually needs a few runs to find her form so a watching brief is best advised for now.

Warm favourite but badly hampered last time having gone well here two previous starts including win over C&D. Top jockey booked and has good propsects of a bold show.

Previous C&D winner well into the veteran stage now. Ran a sound race latest runner-up here over 7f and remains effective at this trip if the gaps come for him.

Maiden who has shown little of note in five starts to date mainly over 7f, although hasn't had much racing room on both starts in handicaps for current yard. Drops back in trip and worth a market check.

Been a fine servant winning 12-76 but has never won beyond extended five furlongs and is generally better on turf. Hard to see him stretching out to this trip at his age.

Incredibly frustrating mare who is 0-35 but has gone close to breaking her duck on numerous occasions. Runner-up beaten half a length over C&D last time and a bold show could be on the cards again.

Modest maiden handicapper returned from winter break and was slowly away at Newcastle most recent outing. Has claims on best form and is on career low mark but not one to place too much faith in.

22-race maiden but ran well enough last time when third under today's rider over C&D three weeks ago. Similar effort would see him in the mix but clearly finds winning very challenging.

Broke her duck at Lingfield in November and has run respectably in three subsequent starts without threatening to score again. Handicapper allows her another 1lb.

Infrequent scorierwith career record of 2-42, one of those wins coming over C&D back in 2014. Stayed on for pressure when close fifth here last time but a little more neded to trouble the judge.

Three winson turf to her name and has run well enough in two of her three starts on AW. Only poor effort came at this track however which is a cause for concern.

31 races without a win and has run poorly on all five starts on the AW this winter. Very hard to see her breaking her duck and others much preferred.

Forecasts

Clergyman (4/1), Jessie Allan (9/2), David's Beauty (5/1), Ad Vitam (6/1), Rapid Rise (7/1), Mistry (8/1), Wedgewood Estates (14/1), Last Word (16/1), Dreams Of Glory (16/1), Majestic Stone (20/1), Thornaby Princess (20/1), Bonjour Steve (25/1), Celerity (50/1)

Verdict

Most of these are out of form so CLERGYMAN may take advantage and recover losses from last time when badly hampered. He had previously been in good form and has a leading chance of landing a second win this winter. Last Word remains unexposed and in this lowly company is of interest dropping back in trip, while 35-race maiden Jessie Allen may noy be far away and surely must get her head in front one day. Majestic Stone and Ad Vitam also have possibilities.
  1. Clergyman
  2. Last Word
  3. Jessie Allan
