Quite impressive when wining at Doncaster in December, but went up 6lb and struggled at Ascot last time. Has been dropped 2lb and will pose a threat to all if returning to his form of two starts ago.
Has run well to be placed on all three starts this season, but his consistency has meant he has received no respite from the handicapper. Likely to give it his best shot, but looks a little vulnerable at the weights.
Winner four times over fences, including when successful at this venue off 3lb lower. Ran his best race so far this season when a close second at Warwick last time and that effort puts him firmly in the mix.
Has been in good form of late, recording back-to-back victories at Haydock. By no means disgraced off 1lb higher than this mark at Sandown last time and should be on the premises given his current well being.
Irish raider who has not been at his best on recent starts over hurdles, but has shown good form at this track, including when winning a chase over 2m4½f in January, last year. Return to fences a plus, while fitting of cheekpieces is interesting.
Second Irish challenger who made the most of a lenient handicap mark to win at this track yesterday. Would be of obvious interest under a penalty, but he had a hard race and may feel the effects of it if allowed to take his chance.
Forecasts
Chidswell (15/8), Imjoeking (5/2), Ubaltique (11/2), Monbeg River (6/1), Angus Milan (6/1), Master Ruffit (20/1)
Quite a few old favourites in this tight handicap. Monbeg River would be a big threat if returning to the form he showed when winning well at Doncaster, while strong cases can be made for yesterday's winner Angus Milan and Ubaltique. Chidswell is consistent and should make his presence felt, while Master Ruffit is interesting in first-time cheekpieces. IMJOEKING may be approaching the twilight of his career, but he showed he is no back number at Warwick last time and looks primed to make a bold show.
- Imjoeking
- Monbeg River
- Master Ruffit
