Showed pace on stable debut over 7f here last month before weakening to finish just under 5L fifth of 13 to Casey Jones. Dropped 2lb for his handicap debut, and just squeezes into a 0-65 contest. Cost 13,000 gns from Richard Hannon.
Dandy Man filly who was no great threat in three turf starts last year, but shaped well enough over this trip at Wolverhampton on her AW bow recently. Interesting to see if she can build upon that with a run behind her.
Appears regressive since switched to the AW for her three-year-old campaign. Fallen 9lb in the weights in three starts on synthetics, but needs to rediscover at least a spark before she's recommendable.
Hasn't really shown enough in five starts to make her of any great interest, and has been easily enough beaten since going handicapping too, so hopes are pinned on the first time hood and the extra furlong helping her cause.
Found one too good in each of his last three starts and is inching up the weights accordingly, so that's enough to counterbalance the improvement shown for the application of blinkers. Stamina reserves unknown over 6f.
Dropped in trip to 6f for her handicap debut at Southwell recently, and that brought about an upturn in fortunes, finishing a staying on 3½L second to Precious Silk. Chance off an identical mark (52).
Hadn't shown too much in her first three starts but much better on handicap debut here (5f) at the end of last month, doing some good late work to finish 1½L third to Swissie (Furni Factors second). Extra furlong is helpful.
Not shown much ability thus far, and was tried over the minimum trip on handicap debut at Wolverhampton latest, but would appear to be held by Furni Factors on that evidence alone.
An eight race maiden who posted a modest effort at Wolverhampton latest (5f), and whilst that was in an arguably stronger contest than tonight's race, she wouldn't appear to have all that much further improvement in her for the step up in trip.
Forecasts
Furni Factors (3/1), Coastal Drive (4/1), Displaying Amber (5/1), Team Showme (5/1), Section Onesixsix (8/1), Ghost (10/1), Jampower (10/1), Ideal Spirit (16/1), Mount Victoria (20/1)
A low grade race which is unlikely to live for long in the memory. Furni Factors is the form horse, but he's inching up the weights without winning, and might be found wanting over 6f, with Displaying Amber holding every chance of reversing placings with that rival. Team Showme merits serious consideration for the Champagne Charlies, assuming she can build upon an improved showing at Southwell, but the top-weighted COASTAL DRIVE is more interesting. He squeezes into this 0-65 contest off a mark of 67, and he ran well in a much better race than this one over 7f here last month, and rates as the obvious play now dropped in trip for his second start for Paul Midgley.
- Coastal Drive
- Team Showme
- Displaying Amber
