Cheap purchase and only a modicum of promise shown in a 1m6f+ bumper here (on the turf) in December. Will struggle in this type of contest. Flat debut.
Not much to be gleaned from three runs in bumpers but her pedigree screams middle distances on the sand and she may well improve for the switch with time; just not in this type of contest. Flat debut.
Rock Of Gibraltar filly who is evidently no great shakes, but to her credit she's improving with racing. Absent since running at Wetherby in early December, when finishing 5¾L fourth to Kuragina. Flat debut.
First foal by Sixties Icon out of a maiden dam (Outside Art). Didn't build upon a reasonable debut effort at Lingfield (1m2f) when upped to this trip at Wolverhampton last month.
Nathaniel colt who has finished runner up over the extended 1m1f at Wolverhampton the past twice; beaten ½L by Galactic Spirit latest. Stamina to prove, but stable are operating with a 40% overall strike rate at Newcastle.
Well related colt whose dam Everglades was a 1m2f-1m4f winner. Had a couple of fairly quick recent starts, the first of which was much more appealing, coming on Tapeta at Wolverhampton, and finishing a couple of places in front of Banksy's Art.
Unraced fifth foal by Teofilo out of the 1m winner (and Italian Oaks runner up) Wadaat. Cost 30,000 gns as a yearling and is closely related to 7f AW juvenile winner Al Khafji.
Bought for 30,000 gns from John Gosden, and finished runner up on stable debut at Wolverhampton last month (River Glades ¾L back in third). Had plenty of chances, but should be competitive with newly applied aids (tongue tie and cheek-pieces).

The Beast from the East denied a few of these horses the opportunity to turnout at Gosforth Park last week, so it's no surprise that they've been declared to race at the earliest possible opportunity. River Glades finished just ¾L behind the consistent, but difficult to win with Heather Lark at Wolverhampton last month, so that pair appear very closely matched. With a plethora of the others more regularly seen in bumpers, this race provides the ideal opportunity for NATCH to break his duck for John Gosden. Evidently this Nathaniel colt is no superstar, but he should stay this longer trip, and he's taken to improve his trainers already impressive 40% strike rate at Newcastle.
