Was placed in a Listed bumper and has made a good start over hurdles, winning on debut at Leicester (heavy) in January and not disgraced under a penalty at Plumpton last time. Looks set to be in amongst it once again.

Showed some ability in bumpers without winning one, though has yet to get competitive in two starts over hurdles at Doncaster. Drops in trip and tries heavy ground for the first time here with improvement required.
Second foal of an unraced full-sister to smart bumper/2m-2m4f hurdle winner Shinrock Paddy (best OR 153). Trainer not known for debut winners but is in good form at present, so market check advised.

Cost just £6,000 last May but certainly has a pedigree to work with, being closely related to several winners and out of a 2m hurdle winner. Never a threat on debut at Market Rasen last month, but should come on for that. Market check.
Maiden from two hurdles and three chases in France, but made the frame over fences on heavy ground (2m2f) in October over there and connections thought enough to pay €70,000 for her. Sure to be well prepared and a big run would not surprise.

Won a 1m4f maiden here on the Flat (good) in August by 19L and rated 75 in that sphere. Conditions have to be a concern when you look at her Flat form, but interesting to see what the market makes of her on first run after wind surgery.

Moderate filly on the Flat but looks significantly better over timber, winning a juvenile contest here last month (good to soft) by 10L and finishing 3¼L third in a Fairyhouse Grade 3 last time. Acts on heavy and should be a leading player.
Showed a modicum of promise when 20L third of seven on her Perth hurdles debut (2m, heavy) in September. Failed to build on that after a break at Musselburgh in January and others preferred for the moment.

Made a decent debut at Pau in December when 12L runner-up (2m½f, heavy). Half-sister to two Listed French hurdle winners over 2m2f, so nice pedigree for this trainer to work with. Well worth a market check given that he trained last year's winner.

Was a 1L runner-up in a four-runner jumpers bumper at Southwell (2m, AW) last week, having shown promise over hurdles in a C&D juvenile race in January, when 12L third (soft). Should be able to improve again and enters calculations.

Made the frame in two maidens and a handicap from 1m4f-2m on the Flat last year for Luca Cumani (rated 68). Handles soft ground, though unraced on heavy. Now makes hurdles debut for top yard and is another worth noting in the market.

Forecasts

Alohamora (11/4), Kaloci (3/1), State Sovereignty (9/2), Quick Wave (6/1), Shine Baby Shine (7/1), Stylish Dancer (8/1), Ilaya (14/1), Hot Gossip (33/1), Lammturner (50/1), Doctor Thea (66/1), Magic Of Milan (66/1)

Verdict

More interesting than many of these mares' contests during the season, with several for whom cases can be made and the suggestion is ALOHAMORA, who returns from Ireland to the scene of her juvenile win last month and can add a second success here. Quick Wave and Ilaya are both interesting recruits to the British game who should be capable of making an impact, Kaloci is respected despite her penalty and others to consider are Shine Baby Shine, Stylish Dancer and State Sovereignty.
