A bumper winner on debut when with Keith Dalgleish she's not really kicked on from that performance over hurdles for her current yard. Failed to complete on her only previous try in handicaps and ran well below form last time back in novice company over 4f further.
Shaped well on her handicap debut at Ayr (2m, heavy) and looked all set to build on that performance when in control last time out before falling at the last. She travelled strongly through that event and although she's been raised 6lb for that luckless defeat she has a major chance here.
Won a similar 0-100 handicap hurdle at Fakenham earlier in the year when with Olly Myrphy off a 3lb lower mark. Beaten twice in selling handicap hurdles since and now makes his debut for a new yard; should continue to give her running and has place claims.
Fair bit to recommend her on pedigree but so far her bumper and hurdles form has proved modest to say the least. Now moves back to a bare 2m for her handicap debut fir a powerful yard and may do better now she goes handicapping off a lowly mark.
Rather hit-and-miss over hurdles despite winning three times with her last win coming over a year ago off an 11lb higher mark. Dropped in the weights since then and would be of interest if she could match her last start when she was second over 2m at Sedgefield.
Hasn't looked an easy mare to cope with so far showing more temperament than ability. Pulled-up on her handicap debut last time out at Towcester over a longer trip and drops in distance and the handicap here but still makes little appeal.
Wasn't done any favours by the handicapper when allotted her initial mark (85) and has struggled so far in handicaps. Back from a break last time out but continued to look limited and despite the further easing of her mark and the application of cheekpieces she fails to appeal.
From a yard that can do well with recruits from other stables she might be worth watching in the market having gone well enough on her stable debut. She wasn't quite up to that form last time (pulled-up) but may be able to do better off a basement mark.
Forecasts
Northern Girl (9/4), Theatre Act (3/1), Hurricane Rita (4/1), Hermanus (9/2), Queen Of The Wind (10/1), Simply Business (14/1), Celestial Chimes (25/1), Malpreedy (33/1)
A fairly weak ending to the card and this race really ought to offer NORTHERN GIRL a good chance to atone for her last flight fall last time out having gone strongly throughout the race. Hurricane Rita is a solid if unexciting sort at this level and has good each-way claims while Theatre Act is firmly in the mix if she repeats her Sedgefield second last time out. More is expected from Queen Of The Wind on her handicap debut and Simply Business should be watched in the market there may well be more to her than meets the eye from a yard who do well with this type.
- Northern Girl
- Hurricane Rita
- Simply Business
