Runner-up in his last three starts he's started to show signs of life for this yard now having looked unlucky in-running on his penultimate start and ran into a progressive sort last time. Has run here before without much success though; cheekpieces now employed for the first time.
A winner of a Lingfield maiden (1m4f) on her debut in the middle of last year she's never really progressed from that initial run. Now with a different yard her recent handicap efforts have been below-par and she now tries Fibresand for the first time with blinkers also going on.
His two runs on the Flat for Henry Candy showed little and he's shown little for this yard in a variety of races (two on this surface). Now makes his handicap debut with a tongue-tie on for the first time; others have much stronger claims.
Seven previous tries here (one over C&D) have resulted in some fairly modest efforts and he returns from a long break here. Well below form when last seen this front/prominent runner makes limited appeal on his return.
Now onto his third stable he made little impression on his debut for his current yard over 1m6f at Wolverhampton off a mark of 49. Now dropped 2lb for that heavy defeat he's now given his first outing on Fibresand; looks to have a stiff task.
Makes a significant step back up in trip after a creditable run over shorter at Lingfield last time out and now makes her Fibresand debut. Cheekpieces worn last time are dispensed with now and her one previous try at a trip like this was underwhelming.
Still only lightly raced and may well have some improvement left in him especially in handicaps. Now drops to his lowest mark in this sphere and tries this surface for the first time (sire 4/15 on Fibresand); looks to have a chance in a weak contest.
Forecasts
Canford Thompson (7/4), Seasearch (2/1), Albert Boy (8/1), Cloud Nine (17/2), Filudo (9/1), Enola (10/1), Hamelin Pool (50/1)
A fairly weak handicap and the obvious choice here would be Canford Thompson but he remains a maiden on the Flat and this surface hasn’t looked totally ideal in the past. SEASEARCH hasn’t got that many miles on the clock and comes from a yard with a good record here and looks nicely weighted if he acts on the surface and is worth chancing against the likely market leader. It’s hard to see beyond that duo although Albert Boy may have benefitted from a break and could get the run of things here while Cloud Nine is given a modest chance of making the frame.
- Seasearch
- Canford Thompson
- Cloud Nine
