Beaten almost a country mile on debut at Carlisle last month (2m1f NHF heavy), this €40,000 three-year-old (£7,500 five-year-old) should be better suited by this artificial surface. Has had wind surgery.
Sizeable half-brother to winning hurdler/chaser Thankyouverymuch. Raced prominently until weakened from inside the final 2f when finishing a well beaten seventh to On The Rox over C&D last weekend.
Unraced second foal by Mount Nelson out of the 1m2f winning dam Rose Street. His trainer has sent out various Flat winners on Tapeta at Newcastle so far in 2018, and it's interesting that he carries the Ray Anderson Green silks.
Beaten just shy of 20L on debut at Catterick last month (2m NHF good to soft), this brother to the 1m4f-1m6f winner Brandon Castle should have taken something from that experience, but needs to progress.
Oscar mare who hasn't shown masses of obvious potential thus far, but did shape more encouragingly over C&D latest when finishing a weakening eighth of 13 to the well-backed Bournville. Reversal highly unlikely.
Beat Hollow filly who is a half-sister to various winner including Son Of Flicka. Shown nothing of any substance in either start thus far, including over C&D, so must rate as a most unlikely potential winner.
Millkom mare who is a sister to the bumper/2m-2m4f hurdle winner Ten Trees, and a half-sister to the useful Turbo Island. Given plenty of time off since a very tame debut at Hexham in August.
Unraced gelding by Arctic Cosmos, and a half-brother to six Flat winners including the talented Little Lady Katie (6f-1m). Hails from a respected stable, but stamina over this trip a concern unless the runners elect to go no early gallop.
Daughter of Casamento (£22,000 yearling) who justified strong market confidence when scoring readily by 2¾L over C&D last month, beating the Tim Vaughan trained Oriental Cross and 11 others. The horse to beat with further improvement anticipated.
Fourth foal by Multiplex out of Chebsey Belle. Brother to the 1m4f to 1m7f Flat and 2m3f to 2m5f hurdle/chase winner Chebsey Beau. Poor on his Kelso debut, but last Saturday's C&D effort is ignored (saddle slipped).
Unraced sixth foal by Proclamation out of Linns Heir which makes him a half-brother to the very smart bumper/Flat performer Turbo Linn. Wears a tongue tie on debut for a trainer who commands respect in these type of events when given the ammunition.

Travel issues may or may not impact upon racing throughout the afternoon at Newcastle, but the horse to beat in the opener is the well supported debut C&D scorer BOURNVILLE. She clearly knew her job when readily downing a similar sized field of rivals last month, but even still further improvement can only be anticipated. Of the remainder, Otterburn trainer Susan Corbett saddles a trio of runners - Amarone Gentleman, Sodol and Tupence - with the last named horse appearing to be the most interesting on pedigree.
