Yet to win a handicap and his current mark looks up with events having been reassessed following a good run here last summer over 6f. He looks vulnerable over this trip following an absence and with his usual headgear missing.
Looked in need of the run when ridden by a 7lb claimer on his return to action. Stronger handling employed, but suspicion that he may want a stiffer 5f than this.
Took advantage of a reduced mark to score last time and end a long losing run. He remains potentially well-handicapped now that he has rediscovered his form.
Made all to score over C&D in August under this rider off the same mark. Evidently needs to lead and there are others in this who could potentially thwart her attempts to do that.
In tremendous form at present and seems sure to get the good gallop he requires. Just denied over 6f here last time and a return to this trip with a strong rider booked makes him the one to beat.
Losing run has now reached 17 but he has slipped to an attractive mark as a result. He has won twice here in similar grade and four of his seven career wins have come under this rider. Well drawn and worth watching in the market.
Has struck up a good partnership with this rider lately, but he is now 4lb higher than his last victory and 0-15 here. Others look more attractive options.
Admirable veteran and winner of three lower grade races during October-December, but has struggled at this level on his last two starts.
Forecasts
Something Lucky (3/1), Big Lachie (7/2), Kamra (5/1), Impart (5/1), Red Stripes (6/1), Midnightly (10/1), Zipedeedodah (12/1), Swendab (20/1)
Zipededoodah and Midnightly are attractively weighted with the former also boasting a favourable draw on a track that suits. Big Lachie took advantage of a falling mark to end a barren spell last time and he has shown in the past that he can maintain his form once he finds it. SOMETHING LUCKY is enjoying a good winter and the likelihood of a decent pace may set this up nicely for him.
