2/1
Shock 100/1 winner at Ludlow latest start (although not unfancied by trainer) but no fluke about it. Trip and ground both ideal again and although he's a penalty to carry, still looks one of the main players again.

Point-to-point winner last April and best of three efforts under Rules came at Fakenham last time, finishing within hailing distance of the winner. Place chances at worst if taking another step forward.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-12| J: N P Madden| T: N P Mulholland
100/1
Winner on the Flat back in 2013 and not seen much since then, has shown little in three hurdles starts for new yard so far and despite the addition of a tongue tie today, makes little appeal.

50/1
Point-to-point winner in Ireland last year, didn't show much on first run for the yard at Towcester recently but will strip fitter for it and this step up in trip should help. Place chances.
Makes limited appeal on breeding. and yard not know for winners in this sphere either Best watched.

Form in bumpers/novice hurdles last year would give him a leading chance here but has gone backwards last two starts and has plenty to find with Call Me Sid on Ludlow form. Hard to fancy on that.

Only minor promise on the three starts he's had so far and looks one for handicaps further down the line.

Hadn't been seen out for over three years before reappearing here a fortnight ago, and ran well enough in the circumstances. May progress again and this chasing type could go okay at likely big odds.

Useful on the Flat and has shown ability on both hurdles starts so far, with an eye-catching run at Doncaster last time. Needs this for a handicap mark but could still win this and not do that too much damage. Needs respect.

Puppet Warrior27
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: Tom Cannon| T: N J Gifford| OR:  120

Has some decent hurdles form to his name but progress seems to have come to a halt and last couple of starts have been well below what he's capable of. Has to bounce back now and that may not be a given.

250/1
Well beaten on all starts, and looks to have had plenty of issues given his absences. Can't be entertained as the winner.
Pulled up at 100/1 on only start to date and no realistic chance of success today.

Forecasts

Niblawi (15/8), Call Me Sid (2/1), Darcy Ward (11/4), Jersey Bean (11/2), Puppet Warrior (11/2), Aptly Put (15/2), Mighty Vic (33/1), Jimmy (50/1), Ballyhome (50/1), Hecton Bay (100/1), Baihas (100/1), Jolly Jet (250/1), Full Of Mischief (250/1)

Verdict

Only a handful of these can win this on form shown so far. Niblawi has shown plenty of promise in his two starts and could be hard to beat if repeating his debut effort, but CALL ME SID impressed at Ludlow and despite the 100/1 price tag that day, was good value for his win. He can win again under a penalty here. With Puppet Warrior becoming a little disappointing, Aptly Put might be the one to round out the first three.
  1. Call Me Sid
  2. Niblawi
  3. Aptly Put
