Victorious over this trip at Chelmsford in December but struggled off his revised mark here subsequently. Interesting to see how he fares today.
Put a few moderate efforts behind him when finishing third dropping to 7f here last time out. Races off the same mark today and steps back up in trip today.
In good form this winter and completing a hat-trick when victorious over C&D last time out. Races off a 3lb higher mark today and remains unexposed over this distance.
Bidding to complete a hat-trick over C&D having won twice here in recent weeks. Latest success came off a 5lb lower mark and he has a good record (4/6) over this C&D.
Well beaten in two starts over 7f since winning on the fibresand over this trip at Southwell last month. Needs to return to form if he's to figure in this contest.
Useful horse on his day and ran well to finish a short-head second to Chevallier over C&D last time out. Interesting if repeating that latest effort.
Ran well in the main in 2017 including when a close third over 7f at Newcastle when last in action in December. Races off the same mark today and has won over further in the past.
Handicap mark is falling following some disappointing efforts over further in recent times. Drops in trip racing off the same mark as for his most recent victory.
Returned to form when winning a novice contest over 7f at Kempton earlier this month. Previously finished 4L behind Chevallier over C&D and more needed today.
Forecasts
Goring (5/2), Chevallier (4/1), Captain Cat (5/1), Mutawathea (6/1), Pastime (8/1), Mr Scaramanga (10/1), Sea Fox (12/1), London (16/1), Storm King (20/1)
GORING can register his fourth consecutive C&D success by taking this competitive looking handicap contest. The selection was winning for the third time in a month when successful here last time and can continue his winning run on his first outing in five weeks. Chevallier hails from an in form yard and can finish second as he bids for his third consecutive success while the runner-up on that occasion Captain Cat can claim third.
- Goring
- Chevallier
- Captain Cat
