Still just a debut juvenile hurdle win to his name so far but still in contention when falling at Newbury last time. Up 3lb but would go close if replicating that effort here.
Hasn't won over hurdles since December 2015 which is obviously a concern, but recent efforts have been more encouraging and he's had wind surgery since his most recent run.
Only beaten half a length at Uttoxeter last time out and is eased in grade here. Trip/ground both fine and this seems less competitive than a number of his recent races, though most of his rivals are considerably less exposed.
Slightly disappointing when only fourth having been sent off favourite at Market Rasen in a novice hurdle last time. May have finished closer if jumping more fluently and is on a fair mark for this handicap debut.
Dual purpose performer who wasn't at his best on his return to hurdles at Taunton last time, but may be able to bounce back and hit the frame here. Jockey is good value for her claim.
Hinted at a return to form at Kempton two starts ago but not great at Cheltenham since and suspicion remains that he's not as effective on an undulating course.
Off the mark in novice company at Worcester last time and now switches to handicaps. Trip/ground should suit but had been sent off at 40/1 for that win so needs to prove it wasn't a fluke (2/5 favourite disappointed).
Forecasts
Diable De Sivola (5/2), Applesandpierres (10/3), Zeroeshadesofgrey (11/2), Super Sid (11/2), Pointed And Sharp (7/1), Moabit (10/1), Eddiemaurice (11/1)
Applesandpierres holds obviously claims having been beaten only narrowly at Uttoxeter last time, and preference is for SUPER SID. He may have disappointed at Market Rasen last time but almost certainly would have finished a lot closer if not making a couple of jumping errors and with improvement in that department likely he could make his handicap debut a winning one off a fair mark of 128. Diable De Sivola was in the process of running a big race when coming down at Newbury last time and should also be on the premises.
- Super Sid
- Applesandpierres
- Diable De Sivola
