Showed his best form over fences on his debut despite some early mistakes but not the most consistent and it's proved that way in two starts since. Jumping has got worse in his most recent starts and needs to jump far better to take a hand here.

Showed promise on his debut over fences at Doncaster and duly built on that when taking a Ludlow handicap chase over 2m4f (coped well with drop in trip). Jumped well last time out and his debut chase form is working out well and he looks to be making into a decent chaser.

Looks to be capable of better than he's so far shown over fences (tough task on debut) with his latest run looking to be needed off a break and coming off a fall. Considerately handled on that occasion over a much shorter trip and one to watch in the market.

Landed his first race of any type when winning on his second start over fences having shown some aptitude on debut. May well have got ideal conditions and the run of the race last time out and won't find this as easy off a 3lb higher mark.

Some of his hurdles form would give him a chance although his mark (117) looked a little harsh in that sphere. Disappointed over hurdles last time and quickly switched to fences in a new headgear combination; placed in point-to-points and not totally ruled out.

Makes his debut for a new yard having had a couple of runs over fences for his former yard (Gordon Elliott) last spring/summer. Those runs looked as though he was being brought along gently in this sphere and he may show more now he's in a handicap for the first time.

Useful sort over hurdles in the past but only sparingly tried over fences although he did do better than his chasing debut last time out. Off a very low mark now compared to his best over hurdles and could be of interest should he return to his old form.

Ran far better than the 18L he was eventually beaten when he was last seen over fences (second start) at Hereford. Travelled well through the race with only a late mistake costing him and remains with plenty of potential over fences of this sort of mark.

Now looks better over fences than he did having won back-to-back handicaps in a lesser grade in November. His two subsequent runs haven't quite lived up to that form and he did stop rather quickly after travelling well last time; needs to bounce back here.

Forecasts

Muffins For Tea (9/2), Hey Bill (9/2), Speedalong (11/2), Will O'The West (11/2), The Kings Writ (8/1), Cucklington (8/1), Cadeau Du Bresil (8/1), Invicta Lake (10/1), It's Obvious (14/1)

Verdict

A few interesting sorts in this and it could take a little bit of winning with The Kings Writ one showed lots of promise last time out and was probably better than the distance he was beaten by although he does have to step up in grade this afternoon. HEY BILL is an improver who looks as though he’ll be a much better chaser than he was hurdler with his chasing form working out well so far. Muffins For Tea is another with more to offer over fences and worth watching in the market with Invicta Lake looking well-in at the weights on his hurdles form and Cadeau Du Bresil another worth a look given how he shaped over fences in Ireland and handicaps give him far more chance of success.
