Comfortable winner on heavy ground at Chepstow in December but found out by a 6lb hike and disappointed twice since. Respected but has a bit to prove on these terms.

Sole win came in a novice hurdle in 2015 and has yet to recapture his spark since. On a very handy as a result but has been a tad unpredictable, so comes with risks attached.

Going the right way over fences and ought to handle the condition well. Has an abundance of stamina but the trip should also suit. Interesting contender in a modest event such as this.

Two Hoots6
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-7| J: Nick Scholfield| T: J Scott| OR:  95
4/1
Can make the running and seems to have relished the challenge of racing over fences. Slipped on landing when unseating last time out, so can be forgiven that mishap. Could easily put the record straight in this company.

Age: 11|  Weight: 10-6| J: S Bowen| T: D A Rees| OR:  94| C

Failed to complete in three of his four starts over fences but does have ability locked away when he puts his mind to the task. Risky option but hard to discount all the same.

Forecasts

Lord Bryan (9/4), Nansaroy (5/2), Two Hoots (4/1), Sutter's Mill (9/2), Cawdor House Bert (11/2)

Verdict

There are solid reason for giving TWO HOOTS the benefit of the doubt after his mishap last time out and seven-year-old appears to have been found a reasonable chance of getting off the mark over fences. Lord Bryan has been a bit disappointing in his last two starts but has to be respected on the form of his win at Chepstow in December - he edges out Nansary as the best alternative on this occasion.
  1. Two Hoots
  2. Lord Bryan
  3. Nansaroy
