380,000 gns half-brother to Breeders Cup Juvenile winner Vale Of York. May not have beaten much on debut and last run possibly came too soon. Interesting that they bring him back onto a polytrack surface so every chance he can bounce back.

Probably sets the standard in this having finished runner-up to a 77-rated performer last time. Returns from a seven month break for a stable with a 21-53 record in AW novice events.

Improved effort last time in what looked a competitive heat at Wolverhampton. Dropped in trip and cheekpieces applied by trainer who is 3-6 (plus two seconds) in the last two weeks.

Oasis Dream filly out of a half-sister to 1000 Guineas winner Attraction. Poorly drawn on debut and did well to finish as close as she did. Off nine months since and the market should provide clues to her wellbeing.

Forecasts

Jazirat (1/1), Vale Of Kent (9/4), Stealth (9/2), Flirtare (8/1)

Verdict

Flirtare is a nicely bred filly who created a good impression on her debut last May and she would be worth checking in the market for clues to her readiness. Jazirat probably sets the standard on last summer's form at Brighton and he represents a stable that do well in these events. However, the booked rider is just 1-14 for the stable and preference is for STEALTH. John Gosden has his team in good order and his recent second came in a race with several nice horses in it. Vale Of Kent is hard to evaluate given his debut was in a poor event. There are reasons to excuse his last run, but this is probably stronger than either of his races to date and as such he carries some risk under a penalty.
