Generally makes the running although he's not the easiest ride but does have some useful hurdles form to his name. Not quite as good over fences he has won a couple of novice events in the past; the handicapper is starting to show some mercy and he's twice run well here over fences.

A tricky customer but does have his going days and did so both sides of Christmas over C&D and at Fontwell. Not disgraced last time but may have been beaten by the mark which he runs off today and hard to know how he'll run given his past.

Has shown form off this mark in the past and won twice in 2016 and showed some useful form back from a break in November/December. Below form last time out though but first-time cheekpieces now added to the usual tongue-tie; not totally written off.

Temperamental sort who was well supported when landing a 2m3f handicap chase at Chepstow (made most). Higher mark gained for that win proved beyond him on a couple of occasions and faces competition for the lead here; still off a stiff mark.

Better over fences than she was over hurdles her season has proved a rather stop-start on so far. Given a stiff task last time out in a Doncaster Listed chase she should appreciate this grade much more and may well be working her way to form and find this test more suitable.

Hard to fault his consistency over fences and took advantage of a hurdles prep when winning at Warwick off a 4lb lower mark. Given a further break before returning with a couple of seconds in handicaps and should once again run his race.

Forecasts

Princeton Royale (5/2), Flaming Charmer (7/2), Twenty Eight Guns (4/1), Jarlath (9/2), Cody Wyoming (15/2), Cusheen Bridge (9/1)

Verdict

Quite a tight little contest and its’ hard to totally rule out any of the sextet. Princeton Royale and Flaming Charmer are the likely pace setters although neither is particularly straightforward and it may pay to give TWENTY EIGHT GUNS with a tongue-tie on for the first time another chance given that this will be a drop in grade. The consistent Jarlath should again be on the premises off bottom weight while you can never be sure what to expect from the enigmatic Cody Wyoming who does have a C&D win to his name.
  1. Twenty Eight Guns
  2. Jarlath
  3. Princeton Royale
