Tailed off in both starts on turf last back-end, and makes zero appeal in this event given his age and career profile. No chance.

Knocked down unraced for just £12,000 in November (£190,000 yearling), this son of Nathaniel could well prove to be a bargain buy longer-term, but he's firmly up against it in maiden company at these weights.

Not managed to beat a single rival in either start over C&D (massive odds), so couldn't be entertained in the slightest based upon what we've seen so far.

Roderic O'Connor mare who outperformed all reasonable market expectations on debut over C&D in October by finishing a neck second to Considered Option. Has proved that was no fluke since and has the cheek-pieces added today seeking further progress.

Improving with racing and has finished a runner up on each of his last two starts over this trip at Newcastle and Lingfield. Races prominently, so there to be shot at, but this rider has formed a very positive relationship with this trainer of late.

Cacique colt who cost 42,000 gns as a foal, but hasn't quite managed to hit the target just yet. That said, has offered plenty to work upon in both of his starts, and must figure high on the short-list in this race.

Twice raced as a juvenile for Mark Johnston, but last seen in competitive action in mid June. Sold for £6,000 in November, and tries the AW route for the first time for his new handler. Likely better once sent handicapping.

Unraced sixth foal by Lethal Force out of the 6f Listed winner Cartimandura. Half-sister to the classy Elronaq and Contentment, so certainly worthy of close inspection in the market.

Forecasts

Daltrey (1/2), Michael Corleone (3/1), Secret Return (11/2), Servilia (7/1), Miss Milla B (14/1), Musbaq (20/1), Jabarout (20/1), Muraaqeb (40/1), Mrs Angel (80/1), Got My Mojo (250/1)

Verdict

Daltrey forms the logical starting point given the excellent recent form of his trainer John Gosden; who also saddled the winner of this race with Tricorn in 2017. Whilst this prominent racing colt is clearly progressing with experience, he's far from bulletproof and will be there to be shot at late in the race. Both Secret Return and Michael Corleone will surely be in there pitching, but to small each-way stakes a chance is taken that the unraced filly SERVILIA; who hails from a good family, can put the pieces together quickly enough in order to be involved positively in the finish.
  1. Servilia
  2. Daltrey
  3. Michael Corleone
