Horse A-Z
Twice a winner on the Flat (up to 1m), but never since May 2015. Finished in the ruck on hurdles debut at Punchestown (2m heavy) last week, and more is required.

Cost £40,000 out of the point-to-point field (3m winner on heavy) so this Oscar mare most likely needs a trip to be seen at her very best. Beaten 25L by emphatic winner Crackerdancer at Limerick in December (2m2f mares), but is worthy of respect.

100/1
Failed to complete in four starts in point-to-points, and was tailed off on hurdles debut here (2m4f) in November.

A mare with ability (3m Tinahely winner in October). She was beaten 19L by Minnies Secret in a mares bumper at Limerick on Boxing Day, but her opening hurdles effort at Navan was respectable, so she must enter calculations.

100/1
Filled rear division finishes on both starts over hurdles thus far (Navan and Naas), and with her dam being an unraced mare, it's difficult to gauge whether or not she possesses all that much ability.
Not achieved an awful lot in five starts in bumpers, and has tackled a longer trip the last twice, so debatable as to whether or not 2m will be enough of a test of stamina on hurdles debut.
9
Horse silk
16/1
Network mare who should be capable of finding a small race somewhere over hurdles on the pick of her efforts in bumpers. Looks likely to benefit from this initial timber experience, and might require a longer trip with time.

Not quite able to reel in the winner Chateauneuf Du Pap (beaten 1L) on her second start for this trainer at Tramore on New Years Day (2m heavy). However, that was an improved effort, so she should go close if able to reproduce.
Didn't have the ideal introduction to hurdling (fell), but it's quite possible that this Dubai Destination filly has more to offer assuming that initial experience hasn't left a negative mark. One to follow in the market.

Won a Leicester maiden (1m4f) for Mick Channon in May 2017, but left that trainer for 8,000 gns at the end of season sales. No show on hurdles/stable debut over C&D recently, but is now solely up against her own sex today.

9/1
Twice a winner on the Flat over 1m2f (including at this track). Performed well enough at a lowly level on the AW at Dundalk this winter, but now switches to hurdling for the first time seeking more.

33/1
Modest on the Flat (0 from 11), and has achieved little more of note in three attempts over hurdles. Off since early October, and tough to consider overall.

Horse silk
7/1
Rated just 47 on the Flat, and is an 11 race maiden. Made the frame on her hurdles debut at Cork last month when just under 2L third to Schindlers Ark and Galtymore (form which could be franked in the opener by Aldawayfornothing).

100/1
Rated 54 on the Flat (five race maiden), and with form figures of P,U over obstacles so far, this mare has done anything but live up to her name. Impossible to consider at present.

Forecasts

Lackaneen Leader (2/1), Lareena (11/4), Castafiore Park (9/2), One First Cut (6/1), Tildas Icon (7/1), Steelyeyed (9/1), Innocent Verdict (14/1), Dynamic Allen (16/1), Welmeetintheoffice (16/1), Stephanie Sunshine (25/1), Elzaa (33/1), Bobby Jean (50/1), Perfect In Pink (66/1), The Lady Of Brega (100/1), Ashbourne Allstar (100/1), Tremendous (100/1)

Verdict

Much like the opener, a race which won't make masses of appeal to the majority of punters. Willie Mullins saddles LAREENA, and she should surely go very close to opening her account over obstacles if able to reproduce her New Years Day form at Tramore, but she most certainly won't be one of the stables leading lights. Of the others Lackaneen Leader, One First Cut and Castafiore Park should find a race somewhere in this kind of company, and also develop further with more time and experience. The Paul Nolan trained runner is perhaps the preferred option of that trio for forecast purposes.
  1. Lareena
  2. Castafiore Park
  3. Stephanie Sunshine
