May well be helped by the slight drop in grade here having twice been placed in 0-60 handicaps at the track once over C&D. Looked as though he was a little better suited by the 7f trip here rather than this one though and might just be found wanting.

Not seen here since April 2014 she's looked to handle the surface in the past without looking to improve for it. Has looked out of sorts lately though despite a rapidly descending mark although you can forget her last run as the saddle slipped.

Won here over 7f on what was her Fibresand debut when she looked well suited by forcing tactics but that turned out to be a very weak race. Her two most recent runs have both come over a mile and she will be more at home over this trip but is still 3lb above her last winning mark.

Got away with running with running over 5f when bouncing back to form here in December off a mark of 49 snapping a long losing run. Four runs since (three over the minimum trip) have shown him to be below that form and more needed here.

Two runs here have shown very little including when returning from a break last time out here over a mile. Gets another ease in the handicap for that run and although she could defy this mark this doesn't look her ideal surface.

Has always looked as though he would be of interest in low grade handicaps and this surface looks to bring out the best in him albeit fairly modest form. Not quite in the same form as before when last seen here over C&D and he might just be better over 5f.

There are three reasonable attempts on the Fibresand to his name with two of them coming over this trip. Has had his limitations exposed though and another place may be the best he can hope for.

Failed to build on his good first effort here over this trip when weakening out of things in the closing stages last time. Ran into a well handicapped sort on his first start here and if he did repeat that run would have a chance although he's not the most consistent.

Second run for this yard and the first on Fibresand having come back from a very long absence last time showing very little over a mile at Chelmsford. Pulled far too hard on that occasion and would need to make a big improvement to be considered here.

Forecasts

Jack Blane (11/10), Deben (13/2), Gettin' Lucky (7/1), Coiste Bodhar (8/1), Princess Way (8/1), Blistering Dancer (12/1), Poppy May (20/1), Beau Mistral (33/1), Sammy's Choice (80/1)

Verdict

This is just about as strong as the first division and Jack Blaine sets the standard although the move back to 6f may not be ideal. Coiste Bodhar knows his way around here and could bounce back if in the mood with Deben another who acts well enough here but lacks the zip to win a race. In a weak heat a chance is taken on GETTIN' LUCKY who might just be better over 5f but has on occasion looked as though he can win a weak handicap around here and he gets a decent chance here to break his maiden.
  1. Gettin' Lucky
  2. Jack Blane
  3. Deben
